I need a little help narrowing down names. My current list is Matilda, Tabitha or Ada. I have a small problem in that oh doesn't like any of them so suggestions of similar names are also welcome!

I really like Matilda, how about Amelia or Isobella?

He doesn't like much! so far all i can get out of him is branwyn...im not keen as it's too similar to branflakes imo.

we have a clashing of taste as im really into old lady vintagey names. i like margot as it's a bit more unusual. ava is nice but there's lots about i think? same with amelia and isobella- nice names but a bit too popular for me (sad i know, but i don't like going with the crowd)

Yes I can see why you don't want to be in with the in crowd! I love Arabella, not sure whether that's popular at the moment? I also LOVE Ophelia, however my DH vito'd as he said she will get called "Ophelia-tits". Men 🙄

Matilda and Tabitha would both be on my list if I have a girl, love them. Matilda is very popular though, if you want to be different I wouldn't choose this.

I also love: Lydia, Jemima, Cecilia, Anna

I'm only 15 weeks pregnant but names was the first thing I wanted to be settled on so if we have a girl, she will be called
Daisy Beau Bella insert last name here
(His family has a tradition of four names)
But I think all three would work as first names.

Matilda is much more popular than Arabella.

Thank you all. There are some that i really like- jemima is a contender (though not sure about the nn jem), i love beatrice but we already have a faye and oh pointed out that it would rhyme (faye and bea, kind of cute though??). i like arwen but it sounds best with a welsh accent, not in my southern accent. LOVE florence but again might be weird if we have 2 f names (or not...is it weird?!). My favourite is definitely tabitha though and it's the one oh dislikes the most :(

arabella is nice but i prefer easier sounding names if that makes sense? also reminds me a bit of spiders though no idea why

Faye and Bea don't rhyme do they? Not for me! I think they sound nice together.

Tabitha is lovely! Florence is too! And i dont think two Fs is an issue!

I agree with you about Jemima OP, I really loved that but was put off by Jem, mainly because the biggest bitch I know is called Jemma.
Florence and Faye are nice together, I don't think just the two F's is an issue. Unless you go on to have 6 more called Frances, Fabian, Franklin, Francesca, Filbert and Fanny, then it's weird
