It's top of the shortlist for dd2. What do you think?

Love Saffy, hate Saffron, sorry.

I know a little girl called Serafina who gets called Saffy for short. Much prefer that.

pieceofpurplesky · 16/04/2017 00:19

Nn not man!

buttercup54321 · 16/04/2017 00:19

Saffy the Staffy.

phoolani · 16/04/2017 00:21

Both are lovely. Makes me think of Ab Fab of course, but that's not a bad thing,

myrtleWilson · 16/04/2017 00:27

I love Saffy but prefer Saffiyha as a name rather than Saffron... But gorgeous and lovely!

Only1scoop · 16/04/2017 00:38

Love Saffia

charliesfavouritebook · 16/04/2017 00:42

Love the name Saffron and Saffy too.

JudgeJudySheidlin · 16/04/2017 00:43

I don't like the 'fron' sound at the end of the name, but I like the abbreviation Saffy. Just my opinion & you need to go for what you like.

llangennith · 16/04/2017 00:56

Love the name Saffron, Saffy got short. Not that unusual.

Geebee123 · 16/04/2017 08:52

I don't thinks saffron is a very well formed name tbh. The saff followed by Ron makes it quite harsh, with no softening vowel in between, if that makes any sense whatsoever to anyone. Saffiyah is much softer and prettier

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 16/04/2017 09:43

Love Saffron/Saffy and Staffy's 😂

Skyllo30 · 16/04/2017 13:55

I know a teenage Saffron and she doesn't really get it shortened. She's a lovely girl so hasn't been bothered by the "wtf" reactions to her name. It's very "out there" given where she lives and her surname!

ChippieFishieHorshie · 16/04/2017 15:12

Saffron nn Saffy is nice. Saffy for the bc? No.

Sadik · 16/04/2017 15:29

Lovely name, Saffy very Ab Fab, and Saffron for me will always bring to mind Donovan singing "I'm just mad about Saffron/And Saffron's mad about me". But both of those are (a) ancient, and (b) perfectly harmless.

SillySongsWithLarry · 16/04/2017 15:31

I have a Saffron nn Saffie. I prefer Saffron, she prefers Saffie so is called Saffie.

greeeen · 16/04/2017 18:26

It's very Absolutely Fabulous. I like it.

JiltedJohnsJulie · 16/04/2017 19:10

DS has a Saffy short for Saffron in his year. Love both. Even though I've known her since she was 2 I can't remember anyone mentioning the Ab Fab connection.

LadyCallandraDaviot · 16/04/2017 19:53

I know a Sapphire, known as Saffy (Saphie??) Think it is lovely

Redpramlady · 16/04/2017 21:24

Impresionante · 16/04/2017 21:45
