Violet or Hope?

violet is sort of my favourite. a few people in my family prefer hope though. which one and why? thanks :)

hope is gorgeous, Violet is quite popular and could become 'faddy

I like both but prefer Hope, it's simple elegant and timeless. Violet is becoming popular.

I don't think Hope is timeless, it just seems to have come back in favour recently. I'm not really keen on any virtue names (they seem a bit prissy to me) so I will vote for Violet

I really dislike virtue names (Hope/Faith/Verity etc) probably due to their religious overtones.

Much prefer Violet. It's beautiful.
I don't like Hope at all, ironically it just makes me think of "mope" and ergo it depresses me.

Go with Hope. I don't get the current fad for Violet (and it will date).

My Hope is named after the beautiful Hope Valley in Derbyshire.

Fortunately for her, we didn't used to live in the Manifold Valley!
