Nay. I don't like it for a girl either but seeing it without knowing your son, is think it was a girl's name.

Sophronia · 12/04/2017 22:44

Yay. I prefer it for a boy.

NannyR · 12/04/2017 22:47

Great name for a boy.

DramaAlpaca · 12/04/2017 22:48

I think of it as a girls name.

accendo · 12/04/2017 22:51

It's a very feminine name.

Mrsknackered · 12/04/2017 22:51

Yay. I've only known girls to be Eden in very recent years.
I know a strapping 24 year old male Eden.

changename7 · 12/04/2017 22:52

Thanks for the replies! There was a girl called Eden when I went to school and I've never met a boy with the name, but I do really like it.

Its a class thing primarily.

MC boys name.

WC girls name.

Traditionally though it is a male name.

I think its marvellous 😅

AlwaysCryOverSpiltTea · 12/04/2017 23:02

I've never met anyone with the name, but since I'm a football fan, I see Eden as a boys name. Pronounced Ed-ən though, not Ee-dən.

changename7 · 12/04/2017 23:05

@AlwaysCryOverSpiltTea I love football too! 😂 That's the reason I thought I could maybe call a baby boy Eden!

The more I say the name, the more I like it.

I think of Anthony, first reference (a surname I know). I prefer it for a boy. Will look up actual stats now out of interest.

sonlypuppyfat · 12/04/2017 23:11

I had a lovely perfume called Eden by Casheral in a green bottle, and thats the only thing that should be called Eden

reuset · 12/04/2017 23:12

I remember the perfume!

buttercup54321 · 12/04/2017 23:20

I would think of a girl.

OliviaStabler · 12/04/2017 23:23

Nay. Girls name.

changename7 · 12/04/2017 23:43

What about Arlo? Or Chester?
I like these too but I feel they're getting quite popular at the moment x

OP posts:
BillyButtfuck · 13/04/2017 00:05

I think Eden is lovely for a little boy, Arlo is quite popular here (South Coast) and Chester I'm not a huge fan of.

SuperBeagle · 13/04/2017 02:06

I only know girls named Eden, and tbh, like the PP said, they're all working class.

Arlo would be a dime a dozen where I live. Can't swing a cat without hitting one.

Chester is quite cool. Very American though.

OkPedro · 13/04/2017 02:12

Chester molester 🙈 Eden for a boy or a girl is just wrong.. Reminds me of being 18 and Ibiza ahhhh

charliesfavouritebook · 13/04/2017 02:35

Mrsknackered I wonder if we know the same strapping 24 year old Eden? Grin

Definitely a fantastic boys name IMO.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 13/04/2017 08:38

Not for me, I always think of it as a girls name, sorry OP.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 13/04/2017 08:39

Arlo or Chester. Are great.
I like Arlo best.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 13/04/2017 08:40

Eden would be good as a middle name.

cece · 13/04/2017 08:41

I don;t like it for a girl either.

Tournesol · 13/04/2017 08:42

I like it for a boy! That "expert" on trashy show Celebs go Dating is called Eden and I kind of admired his name.
