Short boy and girl names for #3

My brain is hurting.
It's a way off but as baby names seem to be the only things about pregnancy I ever enjoy thought I'd start now.

We are expecting baby number three end of October / beginning of Nov

We have a son called Kit and a daughter called Wren. As we are not finding out, we need to cater for both eventualities.
Criteria are short and something a little unusual / quirky but also sweet.
Please bombard me. I'm driving myself and OH nuts with this already. He's told me to bother someone else...sorry

Keir was my no1 boy's name but DH wouldn't agree.

Keir or Mia for me.

Ginlinessisnexttogodliness · 14/04/2017 18:18

Still working on the shortlist.

Like Bram a lot and love Nola but our dog is called Lola and I can see the mix ups already🙈

OH has agreed to put Inez in our top few which I'm gleeful about as I love love love it. Middle name would be Joy does it sound as lush I think it does.

OH now out of the blue on set his heart on Bruce for a boy. Is it too off brief and is it horrific? I like Lenny. Am I mad?
Please be honest?

Corin and Keir been rejected outright as I knew they would.

Also love Zoe but a friend has just had one so would feel a bit cheeky....

Xav

Zeva (translates as rose, but is Greek for last born). Thought might be similar enough to Zoe but not the same! There is also Zia.

Lark

Bevan

Frey (Norse god, Freya's brother) is a current favourite boy's name for me

JiltedJohnsJulie · 14/04/2017 22:10

Love Annie. Know one Annie and one Annabel who prefers Annie, both of whom are adorable. Not too keen on Kier as it's the name of the local council's maintenance firm.

Sorry, not sure about Corin either. Both DC have a Corey in their class. Neither of which I'd be happy if they invited for tea IYGWIM and it's sounds too similar to me.

JiltedJohnsJulie · 14/04/2017 22:11

Peg!eg. Love, love, love Frey.

Ginlinessisnexttogodliness · 14/04/2017 22:23

Oh you lot are a marvellous bunch, some more names on here I love.

Ziva / Zia is just gorgeous, and this baby definitely will be our last so quite apt for a girl.

Lark has always been a personal favourite but I think with Wren it's perhaps verging on RSPB?

Frey is very interesting and love the provenance of the name.

I've had thoughts on Bruce or Lenny. Are you all just being polite?!!

dotdotdotmustdash · 14/04/2017 22:27

I don't like either Bruce or Lenny, sorry. Neither feel like names for a 21st century child. Bruce and Lenny wear football tops over their beer-bellies and hold up the bar most nights.

Ginlinessisnexttogodliness · 14/04/2017 22:28

No need to be sorry. I really appreciate honest feedback. My mother more or less said the same thing. Are you her? 😂

I've gone off Lenny and never liked Bruce.

MrsLettuce · 14/04/2017 22:38

Inez Joy is a delight of a name!

But, Lenny (Len) is an awful lot like Wren. Isn't it?

Zeb?

MrsLettuce · 14/04/2017 22:41

Gosh. Also, Jenny Wren...

Ginlinessisnexttogodliness · 14/04/2017 22:43

MrsLettuce you've made a very valid point there!
I'm retreating from those two names. I just said them out loud with my other two and they sound clunky and a bit chauvinistic next to my little chicks so I'm binning them. Fickle hormonal cow that I am!

I do love Inez Joy, it is as you delightful isn't it? 😊

Just a list of 'cool' boys names including

Phelan
Caspar
Moss
Bay
Calix
Ward
Ivo

These guys don't wear football tops at the bar. They're far too cool.
