Tatiana and Isabetta?

I'm English, but I love foreign names for children. If I have a girl, I want to call her either Tatiana or Isabetta. What do you all think of these names for English children?

I wouldn't consider Tatiana 'foreign'. I'd see it as either a little posh/upper class or Shakespearean. I like the name.

Isabetta is not a name everyone will love. Personally I think it's feminine and attractive. It's a nice (and much more original) twist on Isabella, and it has some cute potential nicknames (Betty, Isa).

Are these names foreign?
Isabetta is from Elizabeth surely.
Tatiana is Roman in origin I expect, a beautiful name but one that is used in England.

I like Isabetta more but your choice of course. Uncommon but not 'out there'.

(but tbh I would prefer Elisabeta I have liked the name since I watched FFC's 'Dracula' I always hear it in Gary Oldmans 'accent' )

I like them both! Tatiana probably works best in English though as I think Isabetta might get misheard / misspelt as Isabella all the time, which could be irritating.

I like them in combination as a first and middle name. But I have a real thing for girls names ending in an a.

Isabetta Tatiana Jones for example I think sounds gorgeous. Better than Ellie-Mae also as PP said Isabetta has the potential for lots of nice nicknames

I really like both and I think both are totally fine for an English girl. I personally love Tatiana, Tati for short

If she is going anywhere near a south London secondary school, please don't! I don't know if it's still a thing but it certainly was less than 10 years ago.

Tatiana is ok, though 'tatti' shortening not so much, obviously.

I don't like Isabetta, it looks clumsy. I prefer Elisabetta by far. I most prefer Elizabeth, however.

Isabetta is really lovely. Although I personally do prefer Elisabetta or Isadora... But it's really nice. Vittoria, Alessandra, Clarissa, Carlotta, Andreana, Aquilina, Antonella, Leandra, Giuilia, Liliana, Marigona, Leontina?

Interesting. I like them both, but never heard of Isabetta. Where does it come from, and is it that country's version of Elizabeth or Isabella?

The only thing against Tatiana is it sounding like 'tatty' (= dilapidated or poor quality object), but maybe that's a word that isn't used much now? Anyway, most names sound like something else. As a name it's beautiful, makes you think of a Russian princess.

Isabetta comes from Italy I think. I was thinking Tia as a nickname for Tatiana

I'm not keen on Tatiana but love Isabetta! Very similar to the Scots name Eisabeth (pr. Eezabet or Eezabeth), which was hugely popular in the 17th/18th centuries. I'm desperate for someone to revive it!
