Orla
Tara
Clodagh
Alannah
Cara
Una

I want a nod to Irish heritage without having something difficult to spell or pronounce for people in the UK - voice of experience!

Thoughts on the above, or any other suggestions that fit the bill?

holly I do like Conleth, and Conn, and Connla, and Conall Grin if I was having a boy or even many boys, I would be all set. There are soooo many boys names I like.

Lots of the Irish girl names are indeed lovely. I didn't encounter many of them growing up in the England in 70s, but they seem more popular now.

One of my good friends is called Orla, and I do remember her telling me she got teased a bit as a teenager ... Orla => Oral

I also remember her telling me a joke about the Siobhan name, can't exactly remember it right now, will check with here and post back.

But I guess that's the thing with names of any origin!

You know OP, Ciara's just gorgeous. Ciara Evangeline's beautiful.

Yes my cousin has had the Orla-Oral thing a couple of times too, I don't think it bothers her.

liadain thanks, I am really warming to it!

holly Sinead is really lovely, I can't use it though.
