Jesus christ... wheezes

ZilphasHatpin · 08/04/2017 15:52

Grin they're the big weans!

We definitely say it here in my part of NI. Not sure about the rest of Ireland.

squoosh · 08/04/2017 16:02

Only in NI

Ontopofthesunset · 08/04/2017 16:36

I meant 'wean' in the sense of child, because I've read it lots of times but I assumed it was pronounced like 'weaning' - I guess I thought it was from the same route - a child who'd been weaned or whatever.

Beagle

AmysTiara · 08/04/2017 17:15

I thought it was er not good when i was assuming it was a girls name.

You can't call a boy Bea. It's awful. Really really terrible.

Usernamewithnodigits · 08/04/2017 21:21

As a person with a non-Irish accent, my initial thoughts were like fortifiedwith teas.

You BEGAN this thread, Op.

But I also think that not everyone likes the same name so if you like it, use it.

Congratulations on your pregnancy.

reuset · 09/04/2017 17:15

How are you pronouncing it, OP?

It would be 'bay' rather than 'bee'

It was a vaguely common Irish name...back in the 14th century Grin

Not my particular taste, though.

Marmalade85 · 09/04/2017 18:12

Sounds like a Jamaican saying bacon.
