I know a Ruby Blue. Her dad has been known as Blue though his whole life (don't actually know why) so she's sort of named after him.

My daughters name is on this thread Grin she has blue as a middle name. It's lovely and goes perfectly with her first name - and is loved by young and old alike. Would recommend not biased at all Grin

It is a bit odd, but I actually quite like the sound of it. It's definitely fine for a middle name, and I think it could work as a first too if you're prepared for the inevitable Hmm reaction from a lot of people!

Is this DC1? I only ask because if your firstborn is Blue you might feel you have to come up with something equally zany for subsequent children. If you generally like "out there" names then great, but if your other favourites are Charlotte and Edward then maybe not.

Personally I'd go for it as a first name, I like it. However mine have quite "out there" names. That makes me brave according to MN Hmm

Honestly don't see why Blue is any different to Ruby, Scarlet, Violet etc

Actually quite like the name Lilac too

Anyone remember Little Blue? I loved that as a child.

I also hear it - like strange said - as 'blew'. I really dislike it.

It's one of Adele's middles names - Adele Laurie Blue Adkins. I like it
