Big Bang Theory fan here too so maybe that's why it doesn't sound old-fashioned and Lenny is pretty cool. Later on he can be Leo or Leon if he wants.

Greenfingeredfun · 05/04/2017 15:53

Yuk

shaggedthruahedgebackwards · 05/04/2017 15:56

I like it, and know of a baby Leonard
/Lenny

If popularity worries you then I'm guessing it is currently having a rapid rise in the ranks and possibly the next Arthur/Alfie/Archie

MollyHuaCha · 05/04/2017 15:57

I like it. I like Leonardo too.

shaggedthruahedgebackwards · 05/04/2017 15:58

P.s. Just reading some other replies and wanted to add that I've never come across it being pronounced in any way other than Lennurd

Marcipex · 05/04/2017 16:00

I think Nimoy too, love it.

BuntyFigglesworthSpiffington · 05/04/2017 16:31

To Hazanduck, youre a cunt.

Confused

She said she likes the name!

Rockaby · 05/04/2017 16:32

branleuse

haz was talking about something other than the name when she called it gross! Maybe you need to reread the thread before you go calling her a cunt. Jesus.

TheLegendOfBeans · 05/04/2017 16:33

@Branleuse

You might wish to get your apology ready....read the thread properly...

In Of Mice and Men Lennie is a sweet but mentally disabled man who kills small animals by accident (pets them too hard) and ends up killing a woman too and then gets shot by his best friend. A lot is made of how "slow" Lennie is - it put me off the name quite a lot, especially as there was a Lenny in the class who felt pretty embarrassed.

FamilySpartan · 05/04/2017 16:43

I like it.

Roomba · 05/04/2017 18:11

The Leonard I know is 11 and has never had any comment or bullying whatsoever about his name. He's named after Leonard Cohen, and it's definitely Lennard not Leo-nard.

Corialanusburt · 05/04/2017 19:40

Bran and Haz- because it's not just traditional, it's got a slightly humorous sound to it, like Archibald has.
You're reading down your new class list: Max, Thomas, Ben, Daniel, Josh, Leonard .. I would chuckle.

Hazandduck · 05/04/2017 23:09

Wow only just seen this - bit of an extreme reaction bran! My grandfather was Leonard and absolutely wonderful, try reading a bit more thoroughly next time before you go dropping c-bombs Shock
Cauliflower a few people have referenced Steinbeck's Lennie before when I've mentioned the name but he was ultimately sweethearted so I don't see it as a negative association really. X

queenT90 · 06/04/2017 00:28

I prefer Lennon or Lennox, with the NN Lenny

KeiraH · 06/04/2017 06:44

I like Leonard. I ve considered it for my son but went for Leon, after my favourite film Smile

sticklebrix · 06/04/2017 06:54

Lovely name that will grow with him. Plenty of NNs as a little boy and a 'proper' name for adulthood.

Hotpinkangel19 · 06/04/2017 06:54

No sorry, poor child!

Branleuse · 06/04/2017 12:50

Sorry about my extreme reaction, I mean truly sorry, I was premenstrual and in a foul mood and probably should have just stepped away from the internet. Ive been told off, and deservedly so. xx

Hazandduck · 06/04/2017 13:28

No worries bran it happens to everyone! :)

Branleuse · 06/04/2017 14:12

xx
