That's it really! I think Claudia is a bit more feisty but most people prefer Phoebe. I can't decide. DD 6 days old...

I teach quite a few Claudias and think it's a lovely name but I would be prepared for it to be mispronounced at times. I would usually pronounce the first syllable like clawed but most of the Claudia's I come across as a teacher pronounce it like cloud in my (south east) accent. I really struggle sometimes to keep track of who is a Clawed-ee-ah and who is a Cloud-ee-ah. Phoebe is beautiful too and I only know one way to pronounce it.

Phoebe!!!! Was my number one girls name (but we had four boys!).

Sophronia · 24/03/2017 01:03

Definitely Claudia.

sosieso · 24/03/2017 07:15

Oo definitely Claudia. Lots of Phoebe's about. I have a lovely friend called Claudia who I normally call Claudes but I quite like Claudie as a nickname for a baby Claudia.

Cornwall73 · 24/03/2017 10:56

Definitely Claudia! It's my little girl's name and she really suits it. Feisty but also cute, she gets called Claudie at nursery

marmitecheesetoast · 24/03/2017 13:27

I love Claudia!

n0ne · 24/03/2017 14:29

Oo, very different vibe. Phoebe is sweet, Claudia is strong. I would go with Claudia. Great name!

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 27/03/2017 01:43

No contest Claudia. The name Pheobe gets right on my last nerve

MitzyLeFrouf · 27/03/2017 01:47

Phoebe is nice but Claudia has a bit more oomph.

TheDowagerCuntess · 27/03/2017 02:19

Definitely Claudia.

FiddleDeeDees · 28/03/2017 13:33

Definitely Claudia! Biased as I have one Smile She is five now and I love the name now as much as ever. I see it as a strong, beautiful, elegant name, which works for all ages, and is never going to be overused.

BasicBetty · 28/03/2017 15:33

Both lovely, but I have a slight preference for Phoebe.

harderandharder2breathe · 29/03/2017 14:22

Both lovely

The only thing that would bother me is the pronunciation of Claudia, whichever you decide to use, some people will use the other one

Murine · 29/03/2017 19:25

Claudia

MrsMontgomerySmythe · 29/03/2017 19:28

The naughtiest girl in my class was a Claudia so that puts me ivf the name (silly I know). On the other hand I know a young Phoebe and she if truly lovely.
So Phoebe all the way for me.

MrsMontgomerySmythe · 29/03/2017 19:28

Ivf = off
Hmm

MiniAlphaBravo · 29/03/2017 20:38

Claudia! I wanted it for my dd2 but wasn't allowed Sad

SugarMiceInTheRain · 29/03/2017 20:40

I'd go for Claudia, love the name but don't know any. Uncommon name which everyone can spell - win, win!

Coey2016 · 29/03/2017 21:00

Phoebe

Joeybee · 30/03/2017 00:18

I'd go for Claudia. I like both names, but Claudia is not as popular or fashionable as what Phoebes becoming. Fashionable/popular names tend to end up being dated.

Purpledaffodils · 30/03/2017 10:11

Claudia definitely. Feminine and very strong at the same time. I wanted it for DD.
