help us narrow this down! Want a first and a middle. Our surname begins with R and isn't anything unusual or tongue twisting.

Amelie Eve
India Alice
India Eve
Talullah Alice
Florence Alice
Esme Rose
Honey Rose
Eliza Rose

Go with brave. I have 5 Adult DC, the only names I now feel were a bit boring were the safe ones we started out with. Like most parents we got less conservative with each one and still adore our less common ones (which are actually very fashionable now 30 years later).

I agree with lazy :)

People on mumsnet didn't particularly like DD's name ("prissy" "private school princess"/ "too frilly"/"weird" etc...).

It was one of our top 3, the other two issues were Miranda and Louisa. Louisa certainly was the one most mumsnetters liked the most and I let that nearly sway me.

But I'm really happy it ultimately didn't. Because I really love DD's name and I know that I would have regretted not choosing it (I'm not saying Louisa or Miranda aren't lovely names, btw).

WillowGreen · 23/03/2017 13:47

If you really like Talullah but are not sure if you are brave enought, then go with that. Its a lovely name and I imagine a Talullah would have personality. I don't think children nowadays know about buggy malone.

All the names on you list are lovely but I'm not sure about Honey.

reuset · 23/03/2017 14:24

Look up the old Tallulah threads, OP. Stripper and pole dancer comments usually.

It's not an unusual name by any means, in terms of stats

1horatio · 23/03/2017 14:28

reuset
Isn't it ranked 320 or something?

reuset · 23/03/2017 14:30

Something like that.

buttercup54321 · 23/03/2017 20:14

Alice Elizabeth
Eliza Rose
Florence Alice
Esme Rose
Evelyn Rose
Eve Elizabeth
Eve Rosina

Esme Rose is SUCH a nice name

Rockaby · 23/03/2017 21:22

Can I give a cheeky vote for Esme Florence? If you insist on Rose as a middle name though, then I'd vote for Esme Rose. It is lovely, but I just know so many children named Something Or Other Rose / Grace / May that they just don't sound nice to me as middle names anymore.

Rockaby · 23/03/2017 21:24

Esme Alice would be lovely too - just read your post re family connection.

LexieLulu · 23/03/2017 21:36

My daughter is Alice, so I obviously would choose that middle name over Rose.

Rose seems to be a little more common than Alice.

Tinnie88 · 24/03/2017 07:15

I love Alice as a middle name much more than Rose, i think that's off the list.

I love all the names except Honey.

I love Amelia, it is popular (around here, I am NW England) but it is beautiful, I would still use

LadyCallandraDaviot · 25/03/2017 21:59

I know a little Tallulah - she's 1. When it was announced it seemed quite Confused but now seems pretty normal as we hve got to know her and use it regularly. If you really love it, go for it!

HeteronormativeHaybales · 25/03/2017 22:03

Florence Alice is far and away the best, although Florence Eve would be better still as the double -ce ending is not great.

Eliza Rose is OK but a bit country and western. Am really< not keen on the rest. And please, please don't call her Honey. The pretty and (these days) underused Melissa means 'honey'. Melissa Eve?

bellamcpoopants · 26/03/2017 14:54

I love India and Florence, but would probably go for a single syllable middle name, so Eve or Rose from your list.

Eliza and Esme are also pretty.

BasicBetty · 28/03/2017 11:08

Florence Alice or Eliza Rose.
I like Tallulah very much (I know one and it works perfectly) but would prefer Tallulah Rose.

goldenrachita · 28/03/2017 11:22

I like India a lot. Eliza is tasteful and sweet, not mega mega popular, though obviously there will be a few others out there. Tallulah is a bit of a Scarlett/Lola name- slightly stripperish but would suit a vibrant loud fun girl.

Looking at your list, how about Sienna? It's popular but a bit more distinctive than Amelie, Florence or Esme (I hear these EVERYWHERE). Emilia is one letter way from the top #1 name in the UK (and other countries): Amelia, and getting super popular.

Rose must be the most popular middle name at the moment- 50% of little girls I know have it. I think it's nice but would avoid it with a popular name like Amelie- you could easily have up to 3 Amelie or Amelia Roses in one class, and the point of a middle name is to add to and distinguish you from others.

And speak the combinations out loud. Not all of yours flow that well.

Alice is a classy name- can you not use it as a first name? It would pair nicely with a less generic name eg: Alice Tallulah

merlottime · 28/03/2017 11:28

I love Eliza and Florence. I am not a fan of Esme - far too many in my neck of the woods. I also wouldn't go with the initials ERR - you don't want your DD to think they are a mistake!
