Eli and Aphra? We have other names on our shortlist. But have always loved Beatrix, Daphne and Dorothy but not sure if they "go" with my other dc?

Two things to note....

I'm not looking for opinions on the above names just whether or not you think they fit. Smile

I know some people don't get the concept or importance of sibling names matching, I'm not looking to get into a discussion as to whether this matters or not (it does to me) Wink

I think your choices are beautiful but they don't match your first two DC names IMO. The only other name I can think of is Naomi and I am not sure

Rockaby · 19/03/2017 22:06

I agree with pp who said Daphne is a little bit too similar to Aphra (when I say it), so would avoid.

I think Dorothy goes a bit better with your current DC names than Beatrix. I think Dorothy is a little more punchy and cool like Eli and Aphra. Beatrix I see as a bit more flowery.

Agree that Daphne is too close to Aphra. The others go fine!

girlandboy · 19/03/2017 22:12

Dorothy, because it's my middle name! Grin

Oo, interesting, I just read the post before my last one, I think the opposite - Beatrix seems cooler to me!

NotYoda · 20/03/2017 06:02

Just thought of another name

Sylvia

It's got the 'feel' of Daphne and Beatrix but is softer than Beatrix and doesn't have the 'ph' sound in Daphne

or

Frida

I am afraid I don't think they go with Eli and Aphra. They have a totally different sound and background. And really none of these three names are a patch on your existing two kids. I love Eli and Aphra and would feel sorry for the third who is not getting anywhere near as nice a name.

Beatrix is nicest but only in its full form. Beatrix will end up being called Trixie which is very twee.

Pmurt · 20/03/2017 10:28

Agree with previous poster who suggested Dorothea. That is a much nicer and cooler name and she could be Thea or Dora oath of which go better with Eli and Aphra.
