Which spelling do you like?
Rebecca is more common whereas Rebekah is the Hebrew biblical way

Rebecca personally.

The only rebekah I know has eastern european parents.

Unless there's a herritage link, I'd always go for the common one. But that's just personal preference.

Rebekah if you're religious, Rebecca if you're not

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 18/03/2017 21:25

Rebecca. I want to like Rebekah but for some reason it looks spiky.

Itsmeitscathy · 18/03/2017 21:28

As someone with a name that can be spelled multiple ways I vote Rebecca or they'll spend their life spelling it for people

HardcoreLadyType · 18/03/2017 21:33

I prefer Rebekah, but I think most people would assume the Rebecca spelling, so that might make it a better choice.

(I have an ordinary name with an unusual spelling, and it's a PITA.)

Pootles2010 · 18/03/2017 21:35

I'm the 'common' version - still have to spell it every time.

GrouchyKiwi · 18/03/2017 21:37

I prefer my spiky spelling but it is a pain to always have to spell out my name.

PetalMettle · 18/03/2017 21:56

My niece is a kah but that's because her parents are religious. I'd go for the common spelling

Sophronia · 18/03/2017 21:59

Rebecca

Joeybee · 18/03/2017 23:38

Rebecca...can't stand when people unnecessarily put k's in names, just looks common.

GrouchyKiwi · 19/03/2017 00:00
Hmm
SuperBeagle · 19/03/2017 03:45

Rebecca, just because that's how everyone will assume it's spelt.

Unless the person spelling it is deeply religious, in which case they might assume Rebekah.

TwoDogs9 · 19/03/2017 03:52

My middle name is Rebecca and I always wished it was spelt Rebekah!! 😢

KoalaDownUnder · 19/03/2017 04:14

Rebecca...can't stand when people unnecessarily put k's in names, just looks common.

There's nothing 'unnecessary' about it, in this case - it's the original biblical spelling.

PetalMettle · 19/03/2017 05:48

Even if you're too ignorant to know the original spelling the OP explains Rebekah is the biblical version

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 19/03/2017 06:02

Rebecca

mathanxiety · 19/03/2017 06:14

Rebekah - I wouldn't associate it with more religious families. I know three of all sorts of backgrounds. I prefer Katherine or Kathryn over Catherine too. I think I prefer the Ks for some reason.

PetalMettle · 19/03/2017 06:18

I prefer Kathryn with a k too - the c is too soft to lead somehow

Pleasejustgetdressed · 19/03/2017 06:41

Rebecca.

Avioleta · 19/03/2017 06:46

Unless you're particularly religious, I'd go with the more common spelling. My own name has a couple of ways to spell it - mine being the least common- and I spend my left correcting people. It's a small but persistent irritation.

Bumplovin · 19/03/2017 06:50

I'm a Rebecca and I've always thought Rebekah was cooler there were 5 Rebecca's in my class however it was the 1980s and it was very popular I don't think there'd be so many in a class these days

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 19/03/2017 07:43

Rebecca (Reba).

TalkingofMichaelAngel0 · 19/03/2017 07:47

Rebekah. Id go for the original spelling. I wouldnt let having to spell it out bother you at all. Both verions now appear to be very common and either would probably need to spell it Occasionally.

rebeccalavelle12 · 19/03/2017 07:51

Im Rebecca and usually have to spell it for people anyway. So id go for the version you like!!

Footle · 19/03/2017 08:05

God the ancient Greeks were so common - splashing all those Ks around instead of naice Roman Cs.
