Thoughts on Josiah?

I think I love it. With nn Joe. What do you think?

I'm not pregnant by the way, just daydreaming about hypothetical, future DCs.

I really like it and know a couple of very cute little boys called Josiah. One of them has the nn Zai (pronounced z-eye).

My son's best mate is Josiah - took me as while to get used to it, but I like it now! He is Joss/Jossy for short

BarInSpace · 18/03/2017 21:20

I really like it Smile

highinthesky · 18/03/2017 21:22

Fine if your surname is Wedgewood!

It sounds biblical - or am I thinking of Jonah?

BarInSpace · 18/03/2017 21:53

Yes, Josiah was a king of Judah in the Old Testament, and a good character apparently.

Sophronia · 18/03/2017 21:57

Love it

crapfatbanana · 18/03/2017 23:37

Fab

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 19/03/2017 07:59

All good.

Knifegrinder · 19/03/2017 08:02

It recalls Josiah 'Jed' Bartlett rather than the Bible for me, which is a good thing.

NinjaLeprechaun · 19/03/2017 08:18

I was in a children's community theatre group with a Josiah about 35 years ago. I've always thought it was a fantastic name even if I do always associate it with a particularly disastrous performance of Jack and the Beanstalk.

PetalMettle · 19/03/2017 08:20

I really like it. I like Joe but not Joseph or Jonah so it works for me

Rockaby · 19/03/2017 08:39

Yes, I love Joe too, but am not in love with Joseph, though it's perfectly nice. I do like Jonah, but not as much as Josiah. Is Jed Bartlett from The West Wing? I watched the first series of that on my big blow up ball thing, while I was in labour with DC1! Love it.

I'm really glad some other people like it. Just have to actually start TTC, get pregnant... with a boy... and then convince DH - easy peasy Wink.

I adore Josiah. I think it's that much sought after blend of unusual but classic.

Alisvolatpropiis · 19/03/2017 19:11

It makes me think of extremely religious people in the American Deep South.

Oddly Elijah and Isaiah don't so I imagine it's because Josiah is less commonly heard in the U.K.

I love Jonah.

I love it!

CocoLoco87 · 19/03/2017 19:18
