This isn't for a baby, but for a curiosity.

For me:

Boy - Emrys

Girl - Bronwyn

MissTakesOurMaid - if only Iago didn't have such negative connotations

Owain and Elin

llangennith · 18/03/2017 18:38

Angharad

IrnBruTortie · 18/03/2017 18:38

Idris, and Cerys.
Idris keeps wanting to autocorrect to Mavis though, which I like rather less. Especially for a boy ;)

user1489577919 · 18/03/2017 18:45

IrnBruTortie - Emrys autocorrects to Enemy's for me, I almost posted it like that too

We have a Taliesin. Also loved Idris, Iolo and Osian. A girl would have been Aneira or Arianwen.

SillyBub · 18/03/2017 18:58

My DCs names are both mentioned here Grin

Ieuan and Evan were the names that got away.

officerhinrika · 18/03/2017 18:59

Olwen , Rhian or Eluned. Teifion Iolo or Emyr

user1489577919 · 18/03/2017 19:04

SillyBub - that's good! (better than being on one of those 'chavvyest names that ever chavd?' threads). I think just about every Welsh man I've met has been called Evan

For a girl it should be Bronwen, not Bronwyn.

I like Wyn or Gwyn for a boy

Branleuse · 18/03/2017 19:26

Blodwen. You just don't hear of enough blodwens

oklumberjack · 18/03/2017 19:29

Gotta love a Blodwen Smile

user1489577919 · 18/03/2017 19:53

Not sure how I'd feel about having the nickname Blod

MyHairIsMyHair · 18/03/2017 19:57

DH really wanted Blodwen for the girl we never had!

He wanted a 'little blodders'

Rockaby · 18/03/2017 20:00

Girl: Arwen
Boy: Griffin (is it 'properly' Welsh? Apologies if not)!

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 18/03/2017 20:01

❤️ Seren and Elin.

228agreenend · 18/03/2017 20:02

Emlyn

Both dcs have Welsh middle names

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 18/03/2017 20:04

Not sure how I'd feel about having the nickname Blod I had 2 Gt gt Auntie Blodwen's they had the nn Win/nie & Lou. Lou's little brother couldn't say Blodwen when he was little but somehow made the nn Lou out of it Hmm.

I like Ceridwen & Siân for girls & Ieuan or Glyn for boys.

poorbuthappy · 18/03/2017 20:07

Lloyd and Menna.

LostInWales · 18/03/2017 20:15

I wanted an Idris, Megan was my favourite girls name but now there are loads I'm glad I have boys. Arwel is beautiful, Gwilym an old but goody, Rhodri my favourite, Teifi/Teifion popular round here. Tanwen is amazing (white fire, if I had my time again and a girl that's what I'd go for!).

spiney · 18/03/2017 20:19

Eos or Alaw for a Girl

Owain, Ioan or Llew or Dewi for a Boy

pamplemoussed · 18/03/2017 20:21

Girls - argh cannot choose! Angharad or Meredith or Nia or Bethan
Boy - Gryffydd aka Griff , Iestyn

snotato · 18/03/2017 20:22

Bryn

LostInWales · 18/03/2017 20:23

The only Eos I know is male! There are a lot of names that go either way in Welsh though it seems. Wyn as a middle name is everywhere.
