I think I prefer Layla. Chloe's a bit 90s for my taste.
I'd spell it Leila though. Leila Grey is pretty and delicate.

I really like Chloe. But it is a bit 90ies/Kardashians...

Layla is a perfectly fine name :) But I personally also prefer Leila. Or Lila and Laleh (yes, 3 totally different names. But the vocals and the L do mean there is a certain amount of similarity. At least imo...)

MelinaMercury · 17/03/2017 21:11

I also prefer Layla, never liked the name Chloe though not sure why.

Agree that Leila looks nicer.

ElizaDontlittle · 17/03/2017 21:12

I like them both, but probably slightly prefer Layla (I'd definitely spell it like that, very Clapton-esque!)

ILikeSalmon · 17/03/2017 21:19

Chloe is very 2000
Super common now

I don't know any Layla's

Imaginingdragonsagain · 17/03/2017 21:22

I love both. Which is unusual on these threads!!

Gunpowder · 17/03/2017 21:22

Layla definitely

TheUpsideDown · 17/03/2017 21:23

Layla

although, agree with other spelling of Leila ...looks more 'classy' imo

WyfOfBathe · 17/03/2017 21:35

I prefer Chloe.

Layla makes me think the parents are trying to be "exotic"

Both lovely. I think Layla just has the edge slightly, though

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 17/03/2017 21:43

Chloe.

buttercup54321 · 17/03/2017 21:48

Yes I only started my account tonight and that was the name they gave me but I have changed it now :)

theothercatpurred · 17/03/2017 22:02

Usernamewithnodigits and your point is? Hmm

Lay off the OP. This is baby names FFS, not AIBU.

Who cares if the OP name changes? It makes zero difference to the discussion of names.

Usernamewithnodigits · 17/03/2017 22:06

No point in us contributing if we're not getting the whole picture!

Thirtyrock39 · 17/03/2017 22:09

Layla/ laila/ Leila is much less common - not in a snobby way as in you won't meet many other Lailas

Dinosaursdontgrowontrees · 17/03/2017 22:10

My dd has 3 Layla's in her nursery class (22 children) I also know of 2 other little Layla's.
so I would probably go for Chloe.

Sophronia · 18/03/2017 02:23

Chloe

KoalaDownUnder · 18/03/2017 02:30

Layla

mum2be2boys · 18/03/2017 08:08

Layla :-)

EverythingEverywhere1234 · 18/03/2017 08:10

I truly hate the name Layla/Leila so definitely Chloe. The kindest, most wonderful person I know is a Chloe so I am possibly a little biased.
