May as middle name or all one name?

CharlieChat · 17/03/2017 16:36

May as middle name

CharlieChat · 17/03/2017 16:36

I completely changed my username Grin May as middle name

Wolfiefan · 17/03/2017 16:37

I rather like it. How does it go with your surname? Flows quite well.

DramaAlpaca · 17/03/2017 16:37

Much too cutesy for my taste. Sorry.

Wilma55 · 17/03/2017 16:40

Better than Theresa May !!

Pencilvester · 17/03/2017 16:44

Poppy may not.

Fraggleface · 17/03/2017 16:52

Not a fan, sorry

NuffSaidSam · 17/03/2017 16:56

It's fine, it's just so 'meh'.

She'll be one of many, many Poppy May's.

LosingDory · 17/03/2017 16:57

It's very generic...lots of them around

Taylor22 · 17/03/2017 16:57

Fine. But very very common.

Sophronia · 17/03/2017 17:00

Not a fan, too cutesy and very common.

1horatio · 17/03/2017 17:02

It's very "inoffensive", I guess.

What about Poppy Dorothea..."Smith"

Poppy Millicent? Poppy Margaret? Poppy Clementine? Poppy Juliet? Poppy Melissa?

Or maybe Penelope May? Peggy May?

I like May and I like Poppy. I'm not a fan of combining them, sorry. I feel like it's very unimaginative and quite boring...

Gallavich · 17/03/2017 17:04

Both names are really common, even together. If you insist on May as a middle name then go for something more distinctive as first name. Or Poppy something else.

Millipedewithherfeetup · 17/03/2017 17:07

Sweet name !

Frazzled2207 · 17/03/2017 17:14

Like Poppy, May is just too generic as a middle name IMO, similarly Grace, Rose.
Poppy Elizabeth
Poppy Catherine
Poppy Jane etc all ok.

BaymaxismyHero · 17/03/2017 17:26

It's cute but not sure I'd want to be a 30 year old Poppy May.

CPtart · 17/03/2017 17:33

Awful. No substance to it at all. A real 'follower of trends' name and not suited to anyone over the age of 3 harsh

Misspilly88 · 17/03/2017 17:41

I know several poppy mays. If that helps.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 17/03/2017 17:50

Poppy is a lovely name, and so is May, as a first name.
Unless May has a meaning, eg Grandma's name, I'd choose something different.
Poppy Charlotte
Poppy Caroline
Poppy Joanna

SusanTrinder · 17/03/2017 18:02

It's a bit...twee.

Whileweareonthesubject · 17/03/2017 18:47

I think it's pretty. But then I tend to find a lot of current name choices awfully 'ugly' and/or pretentious. Partly, because many of them are names that were common amongst my parents and grandparents generation, so for me, they are old fashioned and conjure up images of elderly people rather than babies.

sonlypuppyfat · 17/03/2017 18:49

There's loads of them about

HaPPy8 · 17/03/2017 18:54

I think its pretty

user1459464195 · 17/03/2017 18:56

Agree with a lot of comments above. Objectively they're both fine. Together just dull, sorry. May as a first name would be a little more unusual. I like the idea of a long and fabulous middle name with it.

May Seraphina
May Violetta
May Charlotta
May Arabella

Or a less "cutesy" option with Poppy.

Poppy Eleanor
Poppy Matilda
Poppy Marianne
Poppy Lucinda
Poppy Rebecca
Poppy Catherine
