Hi, baby girl is 9 days old and still no name! This is our sort of shortlist...although we keep adding/removing from it Confused
Could people say which they prefer? We are Irish BTW and I would probably prefer to have an Irish name but DH not bothered about that. Thank you!

Isobel /Isabel (i think Izzy is cute for short)
Jessica (Jess)
Róisín
Róise
Aoibheann (pronounced eve een)
Elizabeth (I love Beth for short)
Niamh
Fionnoula
Aoife
Alice

Roisin or Fionnuala

yoohooitsme · 14/03/2017 17:38

Can't go wrong from that list, personal favourites, Jess and Aoibheann

Kazzawazza69 · 14/03/2017 22:14

I love Niamh and Alice. How do you pronounce Roise?

DramaAlpaca · 14/03/2017 22:18

That's a lovely list.

Róisín Elizabeth is beautiful.

ohnoitsagruffalo · 14/03/2017 22:34

Róise is pronounced row-sha. It means Rose and Róisín means little rose! Smile

Ooh I like it. Roisin is quite nice too, lovely meaning!

marmitecheesetoast · 17/03/2017 13:16

Isabel, Elizabeth (love Beth for short), Alice or Aoife for me.

Róisín Alice

NuffSaidSam · 17/03/2017 19:02

They're all really nice.

I wouldn't use Isobel or Jessica just because they're so popular.

Róisín and Róise are lovely.

I like Alice. Love Elizabeth.

I like Aoife, but I know loads....possibly because I live in an are of England where there are lots of Irish people and it's a name that the English can cope with?! I've got four DC and they all have at least one Aoife in their class.

Not that keen on Aoibheann or Fionnoula

Love Elizabeth (and Beth) and Naimh.

I love aoibheann. Never heard of it before but i love irish names that look nothing like how they are pronounced!

notanothernamechangebabes · 17/03/2017 19:06

Niamh was on my list ... but then had a boy. I think it's lovely Smile

afromom · 17/03/2017 19:09

Jess is my favourite and what I would call a girl if I had one! It was my lovely nan's name too! Love Roisin Elizabeth though that's lovely.
