Second girl due in a few weeks- DD1 is Florence, DH wants DD2 to be Meredith, I don't love it, but its fine. Now for a middle name....?

I was a tiny bit unenthusiastic until I read Rockaby & Jolene's nickname suggestions. Both Merry and Red are really cute.

Meredith is the name I'm probably going to use. I think it goes well with one syllable middle names like Mae, Blythe or Rose. Or some two syllable names like Iris, Ava or Isla.

I like joy and rose very much. Merrie's nice too as a nn, her sister gets called Florrie. Thank you for the suggestions- one syllable is good. My favourite girls name is Florence, which is why im letting Meredith grow on me!

Oh I love the name Meredith!! I agree that a shorter middle name works best. But please don't go for May/Mae, Rose or Grace! Every second child seems to have those as middle names! It's so predictable!

I LOVE Meredith. Would've loved this name for DD but there is already one in the family circle. Meredith Joy sounds really nice. Much more original than Meredith Rose (which is also v nice but Rose is v popular as a middle name imo)
