We have a DS1 and DD2 Ella, l love Eliza for daughter 2 - do you think the names are too similar and 'unfair' (as hubby says) on Ella?

Too similar!

Lia is ok. I don't care for the others.

GirlElephant · 26/02/2017 22:19

I also think quite similar. Alana is pretty however I prefer the spelling Allana

wobblywonderwoman · 26/02/2017 22:19

Fad too similar .. Not mad on the others either.

What about Ella and Anna?

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 26/02/2017 22:19

Love Carmen. ❤️
Ella and Carmen.

weasle · 26/02/2017 22:20

Too similar. As are most of your others. Anna good.

MakeLemonade · 26/02/2017 22:21

Way too similar. Carmen might work but the others are quite similar to Ella too.

Abetes · 26/02/2017 22:22

Too similar but so are your alternatives, except Carmen.

CatsCruncher · 26/02/2017 22:26

I don't think they're too similar. Might get confusing when you get letters addressed to 'Miss E XXXX' when they're older though. Not keen on Carmen or Camilla.

Jooni · 26/02/2017 22:30

Eliza is lovely but way too close to Ella. Go with Carmen - it's fab!

KoalaDownUnder · 27/02/2017 06:12

Much too similar.

OddShoe · 27/02/2017 06:47

Too similar I think. Same with Lia, Alana and Camilla.

Sparklingbrook · 27/02/2017 06:48

It is similar but it's fine and I don't know why it would matter. Confused

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 27/02/2017 06:51

Yes, sorry, much too similar.

I like Alana and Lia but they are also quite close to Ella.

If you like Alana, do you like Arianna? Taking the "l" sound away might help.

Thelastusername · 27/02/2017 06:56

They are both possible nicknames for Elizabeth. I'd say they are too similar because of that.

HelenDenver · 27/02/2017 07:01

Yes, too similar, as is Lia

Rockaby · 27/02/2017 07:01

Sorry, but I think they are far too similar. I know Ella is a traditional name on its own, but aren't they also both shortenings of Elizabeth? Aside from that Eliza is just Ella with an extra iz sound in the middle.

Carmen is nice. I'd go with that.

PanannyPanoo · 27/02/2017 07:03

We have very similar taste.
Clara and Jemima were also on our list I think either would be lovely with Ella.

ICJump · 27/02/2017 07:07

I have kids who's names are annograms. It is fucking nightmare. The second one took months to added to a goby database which impact health care, claims have been denied because staff can't see the difference.
It's shitty.
Still love the names but I might have chosen something else if I'd know it would be such a pain

SuperBeagle · 27/02/2017 07:57

They're way too similar.

I also think Lia and Camilla are too close to Ella.
