Astrid or Clara

I love both... Currently completely torn between the two!

Thoughts?!

Clara is pretty. Astrid is more unusual and sounds quite harsh.

I used to love Astrid until The Office (US) where they completely ruined that name just by switching two letters (if it's not obvious then I don't want to ruin the name for you too!)

Clara by miles for me. I have an irrational hatred of the name Astrid and think Clara is lovely.

Much prefer Clara though I suppose it depends on your surname.

Astrid for me - I like Clara too, but Astrid is beautiful. We planned to call DD2 Astrid but my DMum hated the name so we chose something else in the end. I still love it tho. Clara is becoming quite popular now, if that matters to you.
Interestingly, when I was on here musing over possible names for DD2, the name Astrid got almost universal gushing praise!

I can't see the appeal of Astrid. It's very harsh and unattractive sounding.

I love Astrid. It's on my list, but I suspect DH will veto - he's not keen on anything out of the ordinary.
