I don't understand why I never hear it.
I think it's pretty (heard a lot worse) but have yet to meet a little Eugenie. Not seen it suggested on here either.
Does Sarah Ferguson hold the licence or am I the only one who likes it?

That's what I think too Deep
Strange though, type of name MN would normally be all over. Seems like the Princess connection has killed it.
Think it makes a lovely mn too.

I'm not thinking about using it, just wondered why it's practically unheard of.

I thought it was pronounced you-gene-ee... I'm Scottish if that makes a difference.
I don't think it's a very pretty name. I like Beatrice though.

I was at college with a girl called Eugenie. This was in the 1980s so before Princess Eugenie was born .

I taught a Eugenie. She was a lovely girl. Not keen on the name though.

MrsMeeseeks · 19/02/2017 09:48

Princess Eugenie pronounces it with the emphasis on the first syllable: like 'USE yer knee'.

MrsBellefleur · 19/02/2017 09:56

I would pronounce it You-jean-ee I think it sounds nice that way but the other pronunciations would put me off.

Not a fan. For me the association is thick royals.
