Beatrix or Claudia

Currently rather fed up at 40+12 with my 2nd dd and wondering about names. Think we have it down to two after much deliberation: Beatrix or Claudia.

I like both but I'm worried Beatrix is becoming trendy, I seem to hear it a lot at the moment. Claudia doesn't have a great meaning but I don't think I mind that as it isn't something you think about everyday... which would you go for and why? Sister to Florence. Middle name might be Pearl or Elizabeth.

Thanks!

Claudia Elizabeth.

Justfred · 17/02/2017 14:21

Beatrix Elizabeth

Kazzawazza69 · 17/02/2017 14:23

Beatrix Pearl

OrlandaFuriosa · 17/02/2017 14:24

Claudia Elizabeth. Mixture if slightly unusual and classic. Too many Beatrix/Beatrice around.

reuset · 17/02/2017 14:37

Beatrix.

It's certainly on the rise, but not as popular as Beatrice. It's such a good, solid name I wouldn't really care about it being potentially trendy, personally. Your choice.

Claudia is fine also

Claudia

KoalaDownUnder · 17/02/2017 15:27

Claudia Pearl.

But I don't like Beatrice or Beatrix at all.

hangingoutattheendofmywick · 17/02/2017 15:30

Definitely Beatrix so you can call her Bea...
Bea Elizabeth I love
not too keen on Pearl

RedSauce · 17/02/2017 15:49

I'm not a fan of Claudia and I think Beatrix is very cool. So easy choice for me!

Beatrix's popularity IS rising, but it was still only 207th last year, so hardly a common name!!

Sistafromanuthamista · 17/02/2017 16:02

I think Claudia is terribly glamourous despite the meaning, however, I think Beatrix works better with Florence.

Angelto5 · 17/02/2017 16:13

I like Claudia but never sure how to pronounce it-

Claw-dia

Or

Clow-dia

So I would go for Beatrix

Sophronia · 17/02/2017 16:27

Claudia Pearl

Crispmonster1 · 17/02/2017 16:30

Love the name Claudia. It's brilliant. Beatrix is very common here! 3 in one year group.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 17/02/2017 16:33

Claudia

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 17/02/2017 17:57

Beatrix Pearl.

MiniAlphaBravo · 17/02/2017 18:11

Such a mixed response! Thanks for all your opinions, I'm not really sure what we will go for, any other opinions welcome Smile I think I might be leaning towards Claudia but of course dh seems to be more towards Beatrix. It's not easy to agree on these things!

Claudia Pearl is lovely.

I'm not all that keen on Beatrix personally but it's nice enough.

ScarletForYa · 17/02/2017 19:11

Claudine.

KayTee87 · 18/02/2017 12:08

Do you like Claudine? I think it flows better with elizabeth as a middle name.

MiniAlphaBravo · 18/02/2017 17:13

Not a fan of Claudine sorry, though I see what you're saying about Elizabeth. Two vowels clash. any other ideas along the same lines as these two? We may need to compromise between us both. Baby is here now and nameless.

Much prefer Claudia to Claudine, but also like Claudette. I think Claudine for me is too associated with Enid Blyton.

But Beatrix is a a good name too.

Claudette Elisabeth.

KayTee87 · 19/02/2017 12:41

Claudette is great too!
