Someone mentioned the name Coritye on a thread a while back as a Cornish girl's name and I thought it was sweet (assume it's pronounced cor-ih-tee?) but I can't find much info on it. Does anyone know what it means? Even if not, do you like it? It's growing on me...

Of course, it could have been a typo, which would be a pretty lame way to name one's baby....

Just makes me think of Coyote Ugly.

Hmm have never heard of it.

It's interesting that it's Cornish.
When I clicked, I just assumed it was a very modern name, maybe a mash up?

If you like the sound of it maybe you would like
*Coralie
*Cora
*Colette

Elowen is nice modern Cornish name, too. :)
Good luck!

Google throws up one person by this name - in Bournemouth. I wonder if she's the one who suggested it?

Ah thanks. Yes maybe it was someone promoting their own name!! Don't want it to sound like a mash-up name, so maybe back to the drawing board...

Westicle - I found the same, and only, Coritye (Coritye Jane). The only one in the whole of the UK. Agree it must have been them or somebody who knows them.

It's not a 'proper' name, it doesn't look Cornish certainly either.

I had a super quick search of US records too. Nothing comes up.

Thanks for checking :)
