If your surname is Skies I think you're better off avoiding any colour first names.

Oh sorry OP. I think you would need a name that's not also a "thing' with a surname like Skies. Things like Ruby and Autumn etc don't really work.

With a surname like Skies I think all nouns and adjectives are out as first names - sorry!

It's a shame, all the names we like are nature/colour themed.

I definitely would avoid colours as colours are adjectives so it will end up sounding like a description. Nature names (other than Aurora) could be fine though, I'd have thought?

Wren Skies
Robyn Skies
Lily Skies
Poppy Skies
Daisy Skies

These are random examples but all sound fine to me, unless I'm missing something (which is always v possible with me)!
