Help! Three days old...

He's three days old and we haven't picked a name! I've had a traumatic birth and a tough few days so don't seem able to connect with him yet. He's definitely not a Rudy as we thought he might be...is he a Jesse? I love the name but not sure. Or a Jude? Luca? Please help!

He does look like a Luca, though I love Jesse and Jude too. You can't really go wrong! Don't rush into a name if you aren't sure yet though. Maybe try saying them out loud to him and see which one feels best?

I love Luca, (for a boy!) but the advice given above is good. Try talking out loud to him today and use different names and see what feels right.

Congratulations.... he's beautiful! I had my little boy last month, was planning another home birth but due to complications ended up having a traumatic induction. I couldn't focus on names for at least a week. We had to ask people to stop pestering about what he was called. We were so strung out, tired and traumatised we couldn't think. We had a name ready but then kept calling baby the dogs name or my other DS 's name. We decided to just relax about it..... you've got 6 weeks to register so no rush. After we relaxed we decided to spend a day trying out a name to see if it worked. But in the end just decided on the original preference and as soon as we told my parents felt totally happy. We spent a couple of weeks calling him pet nicknames but now he's really settling into his name and it's feeling natural.
All your choices are gorgeous and very cool. Jesse was one of my favourites! But just relax and enjoy him and the process as when you look back it will seem very short time. You've been through a lot, just rest and cuddle him.... it will all start to flow. You're just exhausted and bit dazed. Don't put pressure on yourself to feel connected.... you already are! Spend lots of time cuddled up in bed with him skin to skin, like you're in a nest!! The feelings will come when you're a bit more with it. Xxxx

I vote Jesse! Gorgeous wee man. But all your names are lovely. So sorry you've had a tough time. Fwiw I had a relatively straightforward birth with DC1 but didn't click right away either - it came on gradually until I was fully besotted. It will happen, give yourself time.
