Both lovely but very different. I vote for Emil (gorgeous) but Billy/William is lovely, too.

Billy (would give the option of William as full name by putting that on birth cert, even if he's only ever known as Billy) - love it.

Emil! It's an old name that is becoming trendy in Germany. Great solid name!

Billy is a goats name to me, sorry. And childish sounding.

Oh Emil, definitely! I love it when children's names are also storybook characters they can discover as they grow up. It's magical sharing a name with a literary hero!
