Should we stay safe, or go for the name we love (that's seen as 'made-up' and 'chavvy')?

What the title says! I'd rather not say what the unusual name is, as it's rare. I like 1 spelling of it.

Or Olivia Grin

I like Olivia, but love the other name. Should we just go for it?

We need to compare properly!

5OBalesofHay · 27/01/2017 18:51

Depends what the other one is. No idea.

corlan · 27/01/2017 18:52

Is it Waynetta?

PrettyDarnQuick · 27/01/2017 18:52

Shall we go for apples, or whatever is in this mystery box?

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 27/01/2017 18:54

Go for Olivia. Don't risk it.

I could tell you what I think. But I'd rather not.
HTH

There was no children given this name in the U.K. last year, so you can see why I'm not keen on saying it.

I suppose I'm just asking would you go safe?

Hard to say without knowing the other name!

Chapultepec564 · 27/01/2017 18:56

Stick with Olivia. Your dd will be eternally grateful!

MustBeLoopy390 · 27/01/2017 18:56

Play safe, most unusually spelt or out there names are cute for a while then get very embarassing as the child grows and has to correct spelling/pronunciation constantly.

Isitjustmeorisiteveryoneelse · 27/01/2017 18:56

corlan Grin
Or possibly Spudulike?

unlimiteddilutingjuice · 27/01/2017 18:56

Whats the name?!!!!!

MushroomWorld · 27/01/2017 18:57

It's not hard to spell as such...

It's just not liked. Seen as 'try hard' when I'm far from trying to be 'cool'.

And the winner of most obtuse post 2017 is .....

Isitjustmeorisiteveryoneelse · 27/01/2017 18:58

Silly me! That was the normal spelling, it should have read Spudulika obvs!

UnicornButtplug · 27/01/2017 18:58

How can anyone answer without knowing the name?

If it is an actual name but unusual for out country then that is fine. If it is made up or offensive then stick with Olivia.

MushroomWorld · 27/01/2017 18:59

Okay, clearly people are just going to comment unhelpful things.

Amberleigh.

No, I don't just want Amber and I don't want Leigh as a middle name Grin it's either Amberleigh (which we have both fallen in love with) or Olivia (which we both think is nice) but we will probably always regret it Sad

Gallavich · 27/01/2017 18:59

Olivia is boring. If you go for safe try a bit less safe than that.
Go on tell us the other name!

Gallavich · 27/01/2017 18:59

Oh god no
Sorry but no

Gallavich · 27/01/2017 19:00

Amberley would be a bit weird but maybe ok?

PersisFord · 27/01/2017 19:00

Have you watched the Shannara chronicles?

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 27/01/2017 19:00

Definitely Olivia

RayofFuckingSunshine · 27/01/2017 19:01

It's awful.

Go with Olivia. Please, I beg of you.

EdenX · 27/01/2017 19:01

Amberleigh is horrible. Amberly is better. Amber or Olivia is best though
