Matilda

ThaliaLuxurySpa · 22/01/2017 20:22

Matilda, too.

Though Greta's very pretty, actually. And I've never heard of one IRL. Only Ms Garbo Smile

BossWitch · 22/01/2017 20:22

Matilda is favourite, though I do know 2 little Matildas and none of the others, if that matters to you!

Yika · 22/01/2017 20:23

Tabitha. Very lovely name.

Harimad · 22/01/2017 20:24

I like Matilda, but love Jemima for some reason. Tabitha always sounds like a (lovely) cat name.. Greta is nice, but... doesn't 'grab'me...

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 22/01/2017 20:29

I love Greta best, but your other choices are all lovely.

plimsolls · 22/01/2017 20:30

I love Greta

Missyb15 · 22/01/2017 20:33

I love Matilda but very much dislike Tilly. I'd never call her Tilly but would worry other people would shorten it. I was leaning towards Tabitha but also have some reservations of the cat association (though my best friend at school was catherine and everyone called her cat and strangely i never thought of actual cats lol) the nn Tabi is quite cute too, but it's definitely a love hate kind of name. My oh isn't keen on Greta, says it sounds quite harsh although he chose our last daughters name so i feel like i should be allowed more of a say with this one (!)

Greta

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 22/01/2017 20:35

Jemima

17caterpillars1mouse · 22/01/2017 20:36

Greta for sure

Matildas are everywhere currently
I also know 2 Jemimas and dislike the Jem part
Tabitha reminds me of cats. Talitha is similar and very pretty though

Dinosaursdontgrowontrees · 22/01/2017 20:36

Wow what a fantastic list.. Matilda Jemima and Tabitha were on our list when we had dc2 (we had a boy)
I think I like jemima best this week

Missyb15 · 22/01/2017 20:43

thanks all, seems like Greta is definitely one to think about. Our dd is called Faye and I think Greta and Faye has a nice ring to it :)

I really liked Beatrice too and was all set on the name until my oh pointed it it would be Faye and Bea (like A and B!)

MollyHuaCha · 22/01/2017 20:45

Tabitha and Jemima for me.

EweAreHere · 22/01/2017 20:47

Greta.

Followed by Tabitha.

I know way too many Matildas, so I don't go for popular names.

Can't stand Jemima ('old' name, and makes me think of syrup, pancakes)

Missyb15 · 22/01/2017 20:59

I'm leaning less towards Jemima as i don't like JEM like another poster pointed out

All very lovely names OP and funnily enough I always think of them as a group - Matilda, Tabitha and Jemima especially.

Greta feels a bit funkier and does go beautifully with Faye. The others feel maybe a bit long but they are gorgeous, can't pick a favourite (Tabitha/Tabi maybe?)

ThoraGruntwhistle · 22/01/2017 21:25

Matilda is my favourite followed by Greta. I only know one Matilda but she is always called that with no nicknames.

Jemima and Tabitha both sound like cats names to me. Cute fat fluffy lovely cats but cats nonetheless.

DramaAlpaca · 22/01/2017 21:28

Matilda would be my choice.

I'm not especially keen on Greta, but it does go with Faye.

I know Tabitha is popular on here, but it'll always have cat associations to me.

Jemima is OK.

Gretall · 22/01/2017 21:33

I'm open to suggestions for names that go with Faye but I do like old vintagey type names. Thanks for all the comments so far, really helpful x

Joeybee · 22/01/2017 22:39

OMG I LOVE Matilda. That was my number 1 name for ages, and if we were still living in the UK I'd use it in a heartbeat....however I'm living in Australia now and it's too popular here Sad
Tabitha is a pretty, understated name. I like that Sarah Jessica Parker used it for one of her twins also.

Sophronia · 22/01/2017 23:05

Tabitha
