Ted or Noah?

Absolutely adore them both. BC would be Ted (really not keen on any longer version) and probably called Teddy. Or Noah? I love Noah, but people always say it sounds like a very strained 'no', so I do keep thinking that!

Oh, I adore Ted. The Ted I knew was Harrow-educated with beautiful manners and a sweet personality. 😍

Bored of Noah, although used to like it.

Ted

MarmiteDoesYouGood · 11/01/2017 23:49

I've never heard anyone say it "sounds like a strained no" except on mumsnet. I think it's a mumsnet thing.

Either way it's a much nicer name than Ted or Teddy. Yuck.

Noah

Pluto30 · 12/01/2017 02:16

Noah.

Ted on its own is awful. I'm not even keen on it as a nickname, but at least when it's a nickname, he has other options. Remember, Ted might be very cute on a baby, but your baby is, for the majority of their life, going to be an adult (mostly middle-aged), and Ted really isn't so nice then.

Staranise123 · 12/01/2017 06:54

Neither but I like Theodore

MrsGB2015 · 12/01/2017 07:38

Edward or Theodore

JournosAreLazy · 12/01/2017 10:23

Ted. But as above, prefer Edward or Theodore for BC (love both these names) with Ted or Teddy as a nn

I find Noah a bit dull tbh.

Cinthy · 12/01/2017 12:59

Noah is a very cute name!!

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 12/01/2017 14:31

Definitely Ted.

Staranise123 · 12/01/2017 14:38

I honestly don't find Noah cute...., it sounds like No, a....

MikeUniformMike · 12/01/2017 14:41

Noah is lovely but it is very popular and will probably date.
Ted short for Edward is fine.

I would choose Ted.

MiddlingMum · 12/01/2017 16:37

Noah is incredibly common at the moment, at least round here, so you might want to think about that.

Ted if its a nn for Edward, but not on its own.

stoopido · 12/01/2017 21:06

I suppose Noah, Ted remind me of a teddy bear. I remember in my 20s working with a really good looking guy who was also in his 20s whose name was called Ted/Teddy but everyone took the piss out of his name. I'd rather Eddie as a nickname for Edward.

roseteapot101 · 12/01/2017 21:27

ted short for Theodore is lovely ,whats wrong with longer versions.A longer version looks smart on documentation but a nickname what you name on day to day its like my name Josephine but i was called phina at home .Placing Theodore on the documentation gives your child the option of being called ted, teddy, theo,Theodore when their grown letting them choose

Rinmybell · 13/01/2017 01:02

Merge the two and you've got Ned?
I have a Noah. I loved it then and I love it now. If I could call all of my children Noah I would!
I don't think it will date Blush
Teds cute too though, much better than Teddy. And I do actually like Ned!
