I've seen a lot of this, and I love unusual names so I'm wondering what names you would have loved to use but couldnt/wouldnt go for it as its too out there?

for me it'd have to be some of the lesser heard of mythological names Smile

Ismene, Iolanthe, Phaedra, Riva, Calliope, Belladonna, Ebony, Hermione.

Gideon, Fabian, August, Oakley, Sirius.

I might be brave enough to sneak in a middle name...

imip · 25/01/2017 23:20

I have 2 names on this thread for my dc!

If I had a fantasy final baby, her name would be Elke. It could only be a girl - I've had 5 already!!!

dh wanted Barney. I was talked out of agreeing by relatives on his side but secretly grew to love it and wish sometimes we had called our ds this. We struggled with boys names so if we have another we will be using barney!

Clementine. I LOVE it. DH would like at me like this Hmmwhenever I brought it up. It's such a lovely name.

Pipilangstrumpf · 26/01/2017 10:40

I love almost all of the names on this thread! I'm surprised some of you feel the need to be 'brave' to use many of them, they're mostly classic normal names, they're just not super fashionable (i.e. top 50). None of them are teaseworthy or ridiculous imo with the exception of maybe Dicken...!

NuclearSwan · 26/01/2017 10:44

Magenta
Beau

Axl

I still love it and my DS could've totally pulled it off Grin

Manumission · 26/01/2017 12:29

Arrietty

I really regret it.

Some of the names in this thread seem quite "mild". Regional and social variations must account for a lot.

starkers1 · 26/01/2017 13:00

Rex, wish I'd used it and ignored the immature basic minded people on here who barked on about it being a dogs name. There are millions of names people call millions of dogs!!

Willialwaysbelookeddownon · 26/01/2017 13:17

I realised mine were quite mild that we didn't go for (Angelo, Raphael, Jasper) but both of my sons names are listed on here!
For girls I'd love a Clementina and a Toska. I will never be allowed :(

Musicinthe00ssucks · 26/01/2017 13:21

Aoibheann. DH is Irish but we live in London and we decided that we just couldn't do it to DD2. Although DD1 does have a Gaelic name.

minipie · 26/01/2017 13:23

It was boys names - Dashiell, Griffin, Corin, Rafferty.

In the end we have two girls anyway!

YoScienceBitch · 26/01/2017 13:30

My daughter would have been Loki if she was a boy.

I love poncy names.
