I've seen a lot of this, and I love unusual names so I'm wondering what names you would have loved to use but couldnt/wouldnt go for it as its too out there?

for me it'd have to be some of the lesser heard of mythological names Smile

Just love the name - wouldn't be so keen on the name calling.

Orion
Ptolemy

I didn't have girls but I always loved Hermione (way before Harry Potter) and Clover. I probably wouldn't have used them though.

Love Araminta I know a very strong 90 yo called that but you wouldn't dare to call her minty.

We have an out there name for my Dd. But as there are only 28 in U.K. I can't put it on here I get mixed reactions and people often ignore it change it to suit them Hmm

We don't have a daughter but i dont think we'd have been brave enough to use my favourite girls' name - Morven. We're not in Scotland and I think it would have set a daughter up for a lot of spelling and explaining.

Hayls17 · 10/01/2017 10:43

For DD my OH vetoed these names that I liked as he thought they were too 'out there'

Dusty, as in Springfield for a girl. It didn't pass my 'bullied at school' test in the end
