Monty/Henry...American and British opinions very welcome! Due in 3 weeks!

So, I am American...hubby Brit, we live in London but would like all perspectives as we haven't lived in the US in 10 years but all my fam is there and we visit often.

Top 2 are Henry and Montgomery (Monty) but also like Atticus, Orson & Leo although swaying away from Atticus as it may just be too out there for us.

This is a brother for Aurelia and we are really stuck with a few weeks to go. I love Henry but its so popular in England which we swerved with Aurelia. We love how Aurelia is unique (yet not too weird). Perhaps we just go with Henry even though its so popular?

Any thoughts or opinions? Middle name will be James.

I like your list but wouldn't choose Orson as 'Orson and Aurelia' is a bit of a mouthful.
I don't think that Atticus is more 'out there' than Aurelia: in fact about the same level of unusual/not too unusual-ness.
Henry is a lovely name but quite popular, not that it's necessarily a problem,.
Not keen on Leo as it's the weakest of the list.
From your list I'd choose Atticus to go with Aurelia, but will throw Hugo into the mix too.

I like Atticus, Orson and Leo all more than Henry (boring) and Monty (too posh for me).

Leo is one of my favourite names for a boy.

Henry as a name in its own right isn't that popular now- if you don't call him Harry as a nickname then it should be fine, and Aurelia and Henry go really well together, I think it's lovely and so classic!
Really don't like Orson and I love atticus, but not with Aurelia because it then becomes a bit 'twee'.
I prefer Leon to Leo... or Leo as a nn for something like Elliot
Monty is lovely but I don't like Montgomery and although I prefer Montague it's only by a very slim margin... longer versions aren't as nice
British by the way so don't know how they'd be received in America, I think they all work well with James and just to say, your DD has a beautiful name!

I really like Orson. And has various nns, Ori, Sonny, Bear. I think it goes well with Aurelia.
Second favourite would be Henry.

Henry is very popular inside the top 20 if not top 10 on the ONS list where as Aurelia isn't. At one point in the last 3 years every baby boy I heard of was called Henry. Leo is more popular than I realised too.

However aside from all that I like Monty the best.

As a suggestion how about Coen, heard that recently and at first was a bit unsure but it's really grown on me and I think it matches Aurelia really well

Atticus(out there same as daughter) Leo is reliable. Orson,no.its try too hard film fan name

Im another American with a Brit DH living in the U.K. I would only do Henry James if you happen to really like the author. I like Atticus, not a fan of Orson. Leo works well in both countries and is one of my favourites.

I'm a Brit (well dual national) living in the US. I think both Henry and Monty work well in both countries. Monty/Montgomery seems less unusual in the US than the UK because it has a surname-y vibe. Almost all the boys in my ds preschool class have surnames as first names.

I can't see Montgomery or Monty without thinking of Mr. Burns from The Simpsons. But I'm an American living in America. For all I know this might not be an issue at all for a boy who spends most of his time growing up in the UK.

How about Hudson James...

I love Atticus, I think it goes well with Aurelia. Defiantly my favourite.

I really don't like Montgomery, I also think of The Simpsons.

Henry and Leo are okay, however they both fall in the 'meh' category for me.

A big no to Orson.

Henry James, as nice as it is, just makes me think of the author. If that's something that bothers you, keep that association in mind.

Atticus and Aurelia are too similar... sounds intentional.

I like Orson a lot. It also means "bear cub", so that's additional points for this one.

Love Leo, but it seems to be increasing in popularity.

Not a fan of Montgomery or Monty.

Monty is Mr Burns for me.

We had Monty, Gus and Solomon as a shortlist, we went with baby Solly, Augustus is lovely though or Angus

Middle names aren't usually used unless it's for official purposes so I wouldn't worry about Henry James personally. Both lovely names actually and my favourite from your list.

Hi All, thanks for your feedback, very useful. We're not bothered by the author, wasn't even aware of the association and the middle name is set as its a family one. We're still none the wiser but leaning towards Henry, its the only one I've liked throughout the pregnancy. Haven't had the best feedback for Orson so will knock that off the list as it wasn't a front runner and perhaps add a few others (Issac, Alexander, Elliot). Think we'll have to meet him to be sure!

But Montgomery nn Monty and Henry are both really lovely:)

I love Monty. My dog is called Monty. Even nicer for a human!

I love the name Henry. If I was having a boy Henry would be my top choice.
