Joey or Ezra??

What do you think of these names and which do you prefer? Joey would be Joseph on birth certificate but we would call him Joey or Ezra.

Ezra Smile

RobinSnood · 02/01/2017 21:50

Both good names.

Joey is super cute though - in a good way.

Joey

Joseph nn Joey

reuset · 03/01/2017 01:25

Joseph with the short form you've opted for

Joey Smile

I like Joey and Ezra but I dislike Joseph.
So, I'd pick Ezra! :)

IAmNotTheOneWhoKnocks · 03/01/2017 10:56

I like Joseph but not Joey! Too cutesy. And either way, Ezra is cooler! It's a front runner for us if our next child is a boy.

Ezra Joseph would be a great first and middle name pair.

MrsMeeseeks · 03/01/2017 13:06

Why is Ezra suddenly popular? Is it the name of a character from some TV show? It has a lovely sound and is easy to spell and pronounce, so I like it.

Joey reminds me of cruel playground insults (1970s child) too much for me to like it, sorry.

Baseballcupcakes · 03/01/2017 14:58

Joey is cute but prefer Jonah to Joseph.

Babynamer0102 · 03/01/2017 16:14

I'm so undecided and now wondering whether I prefer Jack lol. What kind of playground taunts Mrsmeeseeks???

[sorry to derail the thread but MrsMeeseeks you have a great username!]

MrsMeeseeks · 03/01/2017 17:19

Thanks Robin! I'm Mrs Meeseeks, look at me! Grin

Sorry, Babynamer - you got called a 'Joey' if you did something daft or weren't very bright. Thankfully it died out and only the over 40s would remember it now.

reuset · 03/01/2017 17:20

The 1970s insults are not likely to have much relevance now? A google search says you're probably talking about Joey Deacon? I'd never heard of him.

1horatio · 03/01/2017 17:24

Isn't there a baseball star called Joey? Something about taunting fans with a ball maybe?

Ezra is awesome. Traditional and strong but also really melodic. And not as 'old' as Joseph.

Idk why, but to me Joeseph is the old bearded guy of a nativity scene...Wink

MrsMeeseeks · 03/01/2017 18:29

Maybe you didn't read the last sentence of my post, reuset.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 03/01/2017 19:08

Baby name, I prefer Jack, a good solid name.

Maybe I did, Mrs (I did). That's why I said it wouldn't be relevant Wink
