Morgan or Dylan

We're down to the final two names and really can't choose. Is there anything I'm overlooking that might swing things? Is either name too weird/too popular/too associated with a soap star I don't know about?

At this rate we'll end up tossing a coin when he's born. Wink

Another vote for Dylan

BikeRunSki · 30/12/2016 12:31

I prefer Morgan.

insancerre · 30/12/2016 12:32

I know of a female Morgan so seems odd for a boy, although I do realise it is a boys name
I prefer Dylan

4bouncingofthewalls · 30/12/2016 12:34

Dylan is better Smile

TheHiphopopotamus · 30/12/2016 12:37

I know a female Morgan too.

I like Dylan but it is a very popular name around here (by that, I mean where I live and it isn't Wales).

tinytemper66 · 30/12/2016 12:39

Dylan is a lovely name and is common in Wales. He may be in a class of one or two at the most. In my school - small comp - 2 in each year group at the most. Go for it!

Chewbecca · 30/12/2016 12:42

Both are equally lovely

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 30/12/2016 12:48

Definetly Dylan
Round where I live Morgan is a gypsy name.

Scotlass · 30/12/2016 13:27

Dylan, not keen on Morgan

IAmNotTheOneWhoKnocks · 30/12/2016 14:17

Big fan of Dylan. Hate Morgan. So an easy decision for me.

TaggieRR · 30/12/2016 14:18

Dylan

Notso · 30/12/2016 14:30

I only really like Dylan if it's pronounced Dullan rather than Dillun/Dillan.
Morgan is nice.

I think you'll get a feeling about one when he is born. Just hope your DH gets a feeling about the same one!

hoddtastic · 30/12/2016 14:32

really don't like Morgan, and Dylan is very commonly used.

Hellofromtheotherside16 · 30/12/2016 14:34

Just another snippet of information to bear in mind:

Morgan is the the name of a leading female character in traditional legends and modern stories associated with King Arthur. In some versions, she's Arthur's half-sister. The original Arthurian legends are based on fragments of Celtic mythology mixed with medieval Christian stories. Morgan was a witch and/or a fairy - and rather a femme fatale.

This explains the difference between her name - related to Welsh sea-spirits - and the more recent Welsh male surname 'Morgan', which (so it says) was originally spelled 'Morcant':

I love Morgan. My second boys middle name is Morgan.

DramaAlpaca · 31/12/2016 00:41

I like both.

If I had to choose it would probably be Dylan.

Mclaren37 · 31/12/2016 06:53

Love Morgan! For boy or girl but lovely on a boy. Like Dylan but I know a lot of little Dylans right now. (Also went to school way back with an unfortunate boy called Dillon - not the same I know but it's tainted for me now!)

1horatio · 31/12/2016 09:13

Morgan

PlymouthMaid1 · 31/12/2016 09:31

Love both but have only met female Morgans.
