For a boy :)

Would rather it be 2+ syllables, as surname is 1 syllable.

Thank you!

1 syllable for me it'd flow better e.g. Mackenzie James Smith....

Lockie12345 · 29/12/2016 09:43

Only for James, IMO Grin well, names ending in S, that are 1 syllable. I do think 2+ work better.

Please don't call your baby Mackenzie or the even worse Kenzie. It will be very dated in no time.

Honeyandfizz · 01/01/2017 15:06

Call your baby whatever you like!

Sparklingbrook · 01/01/2017 15:09

Don't understand the syllable angst. When do you ever refer to yourself as first name/middle name/surname? Confused

Not sure about Mackenzie. It reminds be of that Busted song though. Any middle name would be ok really.

Zombie thread and also not true about boy vs girl spelling! They're just variants of a Scottish surname.

RortyCrankle · 10/02/2017 19:35

Tracey - stop dragging up old and dead posts about 'Mackenzie'! Also the spelling thing is not true.

CaoNiMa · 10/02/2017 20:50

So much Mackenzie up in herr tonight.

Puremince · 12/02/2017 20:15

How can "Mackenzie" mean "comely" AND "child of the wise leader" AND "born of fire" ?

There isn't a male and female spelling.

Mac means "son of" No idea what Kenzie means.

Moosieloo · 12/02/2017 20:18

Mackenzie means "son of Kenneth"

reuset · 12/02/2017 20:44

Who's dredging up all the MacKenzie threads Angry

WankersHacksandThieves · 12/02/2017 20:49

I know its a zombie thread but if we are going to get this right then the female equivalent of MacKenzie is NicKenzie i.e daughter of Kenneth.
