Sienna appears to be around 20+ in the ranking... would there be more than 1 in a class or is that unlikely?

Darcie or Sienna for a girls name?

I prefer Sienna. I have yet to meet one.
I do like Darcie, and know both girls and a few dogs, by this name.

I don't like either. They are names that have become popular because of two beautiful performers, and will sound very dated in a few years. Kylie and Shannon were very popular a couple of decades ago but I doubt that many babies are given those names now.

There is one of each in my reception class!

I think if you add up the popularity of the various spellings of Darcie / Darcy / Darcey it's similar in popularity to Sienna.

I'm not keen on either, and agree that they will sound dated like Kylie and Shannon do now.

If a name is +20 in popularity, you are fairly unlikely to have another in the class. But it's always possible.

You just never know. My DD has two girls in her class called Penny - which must be pretty unusual!

I'd go with Sienna out of the two names - purely personal preference

Pluto30 · 28/12/2016 20:07

I think they'd be fairly equal in popularity.

I prefer Sienna by a country mile. I don't like Darcie at all.

I know two Sienna's and two Darcey's. All between 3-5yrs old

Coey2016 · 29/12/2016 06:48

I know one of each under 5. Not come across many

lastqueenofscotland · 29/12/2016 11:26

I like sienna

Darcy is quite... Cutsie/twee even more so with your spelling

caffelatte100 · 29/12/2016 22:18

Sienna is my fav.

The Kylie comparison is a good way of explaining what I have felt about Darcey for a long while.

They are flash in the pan, celebratory inspired names which will have a massive spike in popularity for about 5 years and then disappear again.
