Maisy, Madison or Macy?

Which name? Can I just say... I know they're not to everyone's taste - some may see them as 'chavvy' (something I just don't agree with (I think it's very snobby)) so I don't need people saying that Smile would just like to know which is your favourite! These spellings are set in stone Smile

Of the three, Madison.

dangerrabbit · 25/12/2016 23:17

Maisie

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 25/12/2016 23:19

Maisie

France88 · 25/12/2016 23:19

I did say the spellings were set in stone Grin so it wouldn't be Maisie!

Maisie, because that's the correct spelling.

France88 · 25/12/2016 23:29

Hmm it's not going to be Maisie...

Grin the names board gets better and better.

"These spellings are set in stone"

OP I am biased but Madison. And thank you for spelling it like that rather than Maddison/Madysin/Maddacen.

1horatio · 25/12/2016 23:36

I like Macy. Maisy is ok. But my spell check has just tried to change it to 'Amish' Hmm and it reminds me a bit too much of Maisie, which is very twee and wet imo.

Madison is ok but I honestly prefer Macy.

France88 · 25/12/2016 23:39

Thank you Grin

I just think Maisy looks more like a proper name! I do prefer 'original' spellings (hence Madison and Macy) but there are a few that are an exception!

Maisy

WyfOfBathe · 25/12/2016 23:51

I like all three of those names Smile

I love Madison best Smile but both the Madisons I know are normally called Madi/Maddy so if you don't like those nicknames then bare that in mind

I like Macy as well

I like how Maisy sounds but she would probably spend her life correcting people who spell it Maisie (my spell check recognises Maisie but not Maisy)

France88 · 25/12/2016 23:55

I love Maddie, so have no problem with people using that NN Smile

Yeah, I know what you mean about having her having to spell her name out (if we went with Maisy) but I feel like she would anyway. Lots of people spell it Maddison/Macey/Macie, etc. Smile it might be quite easy to say "Maisy, with a y" - I have to with my name!

Thank you though Smile

I like Macy the best. I really dislike Maisy as its just too sickly sweet and Maddie as a nickname is alright but used a lot whereas Macy is different yet known.

Pluto30 · 26/12/2016 00:28
  1. Macy
  2. Madison
  3. Maisy

I chose Macy over Madison because there are a lot of Maddies/Madeleines/Madisons around at the moment, whereas Macy is very uncommon. I don't like Maisy or Maisie at all.

CakeRattleandRoll · 26/12/2016 03:29

Maisy

Prettybaffled · 26/12/2016 04:46

Funnily enough I met a dm of a Macy the same age as my eldest and complemented her on the lovely name. She said with hindsight it was a massive error because no one could spell or say it correctly and her poor dd was constantly being called Maisie. She said.she would choose a different name given her time again.

So purely for this reason I would go with Maisie, spelled Maisie so that most people get it right.

I'm not keen on madison personally!

Macy.

OhStuffingBalls · 26/12/2016 13:14

Maisy

Namechangeemergency · 26/12/2016 13:18

Maisy doesn't look like a weird spelling to me. It looks like Milly/Millie iyswim.

Maisy is lovely.
I like the other two names but I think I like Maisy best.

Namechangeemergency · 26/12/2016 13:19

I just googled it out of curiosity.
Maisy seems a pretty standard spelling.

twinjocks · 26/12/2016 14:04

Maisy (and I would spell it like that too, OP)

IAmNotTheOneWhoKnocks · 26/12/2016 15:09

Macy
