I like Macy

Ohyesiam · 25/12/2016 02:53

Dreadful
You did ask

pandaporter · 25/12/2016 02:55

That's fine, but why do you think so? :)

I like it, but I like Maisie more.

QuimReaper · 25/12/2016 09:40

I don't normally like names like that but I think it's quite cute.

Wellitwouldbenice · 25/12/2016 09:47

Very... Mmmm.... American. Makes me want to say it with an accent...

howtheheckdoidealwiththis · 25/12/2016 09:51

Sounds like a dog's name to me. Maisie is nicer.

pinkcardi · 25/12/2016 09:54

Not a big fan, sounds like an American department store, somehow looks a little odd, like it needs another letter in it.

Maisie is lovely.

FiaMarrow · 25/12/2016 10:01

Macy is a great name - makes me think of Macy Gray Xmas Smile

Maisie looks a bit twee to me.

Sophronia · 25/12/2016 10:03

Not keen, it's a bit harsh sounding. I prefer Maisie/Maisy/Mazey

Cynara · 25/12/2016 10:08

Agree with pinkcardi. I don't like the way it looks wriiten down. It's weirdly truncated, like a letter is missing. Also it sounds cutesy and like a nickname. I don't like it, sorry.

girlelephant · 25/12/2016 11:08

Pretty

1horatio · 25/12/2016 11:32

I prefer it to Maisie.

Mach isn't as cutesy and twee, imo.

1horatio · 25/12/2016 11:32

Macy isn't as cutesy and twee.

Ops ;)

NapQueen · 25/12/2016 11:34

I'm not a fan as it is more of a shop name to me (even though I'm in the uk). Maisie isn't a name I'm much of a fan of either.

As long as you and baby's dad love it though OP that matters more than a bunch of strangers on the tinterweb.

pandaporter · 25/12/2016 14:16

I'm not even pregnant, I was just wondering! I like Maisy, but not Maisie - I know I'm a bit strange! I just thought Macy was less popular.

I know that feeling. I also started a thread about the name Gemma without knowing whether we'd actually decide to try for DC2...

But seeing as we did decide to try for DC2 (yesterday)... Who knows, maybe we will actually have a little Gemma.

I really like Macy. Maisy is cute (but I do prefer Macy. just because Maisy reminds me a bit too much of Maisie, which I really don't like).

WuTangFlan · 25/12/2016 15:51

Macy Gray
William H Macy
Macy short for Mason
Macy's shop in US

hoddtastic · 25/12/2016 16:00

I quite like Marcia. But not Macy.

I think Macy'd wear a big headband and have her ears pierced before starting nursery.

Vixxfacee · 25/12/2016 16:01

Maisie is awful. Sounds like a dopey name. Macy is ok.

1horatio · 25/12/2016 16:08

hodd

What a nice way to introduce the British obsession with class to the discussion.

Marcia makes me think of a very distant great-aunt. She's very peculiar but also rather badass. Loves liquor, her dogs and hunting.... 😂

DeckTheHall · 25/12/2016 16:09

Sorry but it makes me think of the US department store

hoddtastic · 25/12/2016 16:10

are you saying that kids in earrings is declasse Horatio?

I was merely pointing out she might be an early adopter of earrings and headbands and made no judgement on that :)

:D

1horatio · 25/12/2016 16:19

hodd
Just like a little girl like names... Keylea may have a dummy and wear a headband?

(I'm actually an expat, but getting to know my MIL taught me more about this kind of rot than I ever wanted to know...)

:D
