Sadie or Sarah?

Just that really. Smile

I know Sadie is traditionally a shortening of Sarah, but think it's considered more of a standalone name now (I don't know any Sarahs who get called Sadie...)

Which do you prefer?

Sadie. But I love Sarah too.

SorenaJ · 19/12/2016 07:57

Sarah all the way. Sadie sounds like sadist.

Alisvolatpropiis · 19/12/2016 09:07

Sadie. Sarah is just dull.

Sophronia · 19/12/2016 10:01

Reminds me of sadism as well. Sarah's beautiful.

Sarah.

Sadie sounds like a bitchy spoilt brat. :-)

Coey2016 · 19/12/2016 14:41

Sadie

I love Biblical names, so it has to be Sarah for me.
I also think it sounds fresher - there are loads of girls with '-ie' names around atm, and whilst Sarah was very popular in the 70s and 80s, it's been out of vogue for a while now. She won't have any others in her class, and if I met a baby Sarah I would think it was a refreshing, sophisticated, and strong choice.
I also like Sara. Although DP doesn't like Sarah or Sara fool so no chance of us ever using either.

Sarah (or Sara)

scanaldo · 19/12/2016 16:13

I have a Sarah known as Sadie! I absolutely love Sadie but thought I'd give her options. My name can't be shortened, no nicknames etc - dull.

capercaillie · 19/12/2016 16:17

Sarah

Branleuse · 19/12/2016 16:19

CoraPirbright · 19/12/2016 18:08

Not that keen on Sadie but prefer it to Sarah which is dull, dull dull (I am a Sarah btw. Boooooooring).

pinkieandperkie · 19/12/2016 18:27

BadToTheBone · 19/12/2016 19:13

Sadie, by a country mile.

Jigglealltheway · 19/12/2016 19:23

Sarah, Sara or seraphine/a.
There is an old 60s/70s number called " Sadie, the cleaning lady."

hoddtastic · 19/12/2016 19:24

Sarah, you could use Sally as well (which is lovely)

CPtart · 19/12/2016 19:42

Sarah. Too many i.e. ending names about.

Enidblyton1 · 19/12/2016 20:09

Sarah is such a pretty name. V common in the 80s so was a bit dull then - but not now! Go for it!

Raines100 · 19/12/2016 21:27

Sarah is beautiful

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 19/12/2016 21:29

Sarah. Not sure what it is about Sadie but something puts me off it.
