Abigail, Freya and Jessica are my favourites.

All lovely names op.

To pick favorites I would say Abigail, Katie and Jasmine.

Least favourites probably Alice and Charlotte.

Imogen, Sophia and Freya are my top three.

Middle of the road - very safe names - Payton stands out

My thoughts:

Annabelle - boring
Imogen - love
Jasmine - love
Eleanore - OK. Bit boring but prefer it spelt Eleanor
Lola - overused
Isabelle - overused
Abigail - OK
Charlotte - OK but dull
Emma - boring
Sophia - boring
Freya - love. Meant to be really popular but I only know one and she is in her 40s
Sophie - boring
Poppy - overused
Peyton - dislike
Orla - OK but unoriginal (am Irish though - very common here)
Katie - OK but dull
Emily - like
Rebecca - dislike
Jessica - dislike
Alice - OK

Annabelle: lovely
Imogen: (too?) popular
Eleanore: love it
Isabelle: overused but nice,
Abigail: not 'my cup of tea' but perfectly fine
Charlotte: lovely. A bit popular but really nice
Emma: love it!
Sophia: very nice
Freya: I like it
Sophie: ok
Orla: beautiful
Katie: Kate or Katherine, imo
Emily: why not?
Jessica: it's nice
Alice: gorgeous

I like Abigail and Rebecca best

Love Jasmine and Abigail.

Annabelle - prefer the spelling Annabel because it makes it a bit less frilly (and more like Annabel Lee), but still not fond because it's just so girly. I couldn't see anything other than a girly girl suiting Annabel(le).

Imogen - Like this, love the nickname Immy.

Jasmine - I don't like this. It's outdated in my area. Was very popular in the 80s and 90s, and isn't associated with "class".

Eleanore - Prefer the spelling Eleanor, but not keen either way.

Lola - Love this.

Isabelle - Prefer the spelling Isabel, because, like Annabel, it removes some of the frilliness. Not a fan. Prefer Isabella with the nickname Bella. I don't like that all Isabels get shortened to "Izzy".

Abigail - Love this. Abby is very sweet as a nickname. Not common at the moment either.

Charlotte - Love this, but far too popular at the moment. It's the top girl name where I live and has been in the top 10 for over 10 years now.

Emma - Prefer Emily or just Emmy. But there's nothing objectively wrong with Emma.

Sophia - Love this.

Freya - Love this.

Sophie - Prefer Sophia as it ages better than Sophie.

Poppy - Like this.

Peyton - Love this because it reminds me of One Tree Hill. I know it's not likely to be popular on here because 1) it's traditionally a male name, and 2) it's "too American"

Orla - Don't like this.

Katie - Prefer just Kate. Katie is "meh".

Emily - Love this.

Rebecca - Outdated. I know tons of Rebeccas from the 80s and 90s, all shortened to Bec.

Jessica - Outdated. See above, but amplify the number by 5. So, so many Jessicas in their 20s and 30s now.

Alice - Lovely, but a bit overused at the moment.

Love: Annabelle, Charlotte, Freya, Sophia, Alice

Dislike: Imogen, Orla, Lola, Poppy, Peyton

When is a name outdated? Lots of little Jessicas around. Jessica is the 7th most popular name last year, and the 3rd most popular 3 years ago. In 1984, it was the 40th most popular. In 1994 it was more popular than now, but I wouldn't say a name on place 3-7 is outdated. Or maybe it is more the way it sounds. Because I guess that's subjective then.

Slightly drip feeding... apologies... we have two middle names in mind, both are family names from my DHs mothers side (Sri Lankan) so name would need to go with that. Choices are

Coisera or Mantana

Surname is Burclaff, we don't want anything too lengthy but would prefer something that could be shortened and love the more traditional names. If anyone can think of anything else that would work with one of the middle names and our surname, I'd love to know!

We won't know if it's a boy or a girl until early Jan, but have a lovely list of boys names which we adore. Girls just seem harder.

Sorena It's outdated where I am. It's dropping rapidly by the year. It'll be out of the top 50 this year, I'm sure.

Annabelle - I like Anna but Annabelle, nope
Imogen - I quite like Imogen
Jasmine - Nope, dated imo
Eleanore - Eleanor I love, not sure why the e is there
Lola - Awful. Reminds me of a chihuahua
Isabelle - Love
Abigail - Don't like, don't like Abby/Abi etc either
Charlotte - Love, beautiful name
Emma - Love, I've yet to meet an Emma I don't think is lovely
Sophia - Don't love it but nothing really against it
Freya - Hate the sound of Freya, reminds me of a cow
Sophie - Dated version of Sophia
Poppy - Nope
Peyton - Don't like this, Peyton Manning anyone?
Orla - Reminds me of Orf, hate it
Katie - Dated but I rather like Catherine
Emily - Dated, but still pretty
Rebecca - I don't know a single Rebecca (and I'm an age where I know ALOT of them) who liked their name
Jessica - Dated, don't like the sound of it
Alice - Love because the kindest, most beautiful person I know is an Alice

Pluto must be a geographical thing. Somewhere there must be lots of little Jessicas.

We should take a bet. I think it'll be in place 18 in 2016.

Interestingly I was looking at an article today with the top 100 girls names for 2016 - Jessica was at number 9!

Annabelle - Annabel is better. can be shortened to Anna
Imogen - No. Don't like Immy
Jasmine - Pretty. Jaz shortening isn't too bad
Eleanore - Vile
Lola - OK. A bit like a nn
Isabelle - too populat. Isabel better but don't like Izzy
Abigail - OK. Can be shortened to Abi or Gail
Charlotte - If it's good enough for the Cambridges why not. Lottie is ok
Emma - beautiful name
Sophia - too popular (sof-eye-a or Sof- ee-a?)
Freya - ok
Sophie - lovely but too popular
Poppy - I like it
Peyton - no. don't even think about it
Orla - ok
Katie - ok
Emily - no, it was too popular about 20 yrs ago
Rebecca - no. too popular about 40-50 yrs ago
Jessica - ok

Through school she will probably be known by Firstname Surname so choose something that sounds good.
Becky Burclaff doesn't sound good, Annabel Burclaff doesn't either.

Very pretty list. Especially like jasmine, Jessica and Alice.
