To call my child Spencer when my husband is called Mark?

What time will Mark and Spencer be home?

are Mark and Spencer coming with you?

Etc etc.

I think that would be ok.

As long as your last name isn't Mark as well, obviously 😉

MrsGsnow18 · 18/12/2016 11:21

Unless the names are said together then I wouldn't notice.
However if I heard you say 'mark and spencer will be home soon'
I would instantly think of M&S

Afreshstartplease · 18/12/2016 11:23

I wouldn't personally

It would irritate me

BertrandRussell · 18/12/2016 11:23

Yes, I'm afraid it would. Spencer isn't a very nice name anyway!

LizzieMacQueen · 18/12/2016 11:24

You would need to refer to them as Spencer and Mark.

Floralnomad · 18/12/2016 11:28

Think how ridiculous it would be in cards
Love from Tiny, Mark and Spencer

1horatio · 18/12/2016 11:37

You could also write:

Spencer, Tiny and Mark.

Thundercake · 18/12/2016 11:51

It's a cool name and while I wouldn't use the word 'ridiculous' i think everyone will comment on the M&S link, forever. Have you anything else on the list?

GinIsIn · 18/12/2016 11:53

Ummmm..... I wouldn't personally, no! Sorry!

PotteringAlong · 18/12/2016 11:56

No, you can't do that.

MidnightVelvetthe7th · 18/12/2016 12:02

People might call them Sparks collectively, e.g are you & sparks coming over later for your tea?

JunebabyT · 18/12/2016 12:59

I wouldn't and am not keen on spencer anyway. What else is in the running?

TinyTickler · 18/12/2016 22:15

Yeah I think I'd ruled it out really already... poor baby sparks!
