Cassia

Really loving this name for a dd (and think it goes well with our dc Eli & Aphra )

The only thing that would put me off is it being shortened to Cassie which I would not love.

So, what do you think of Cassia, do you think it is very likely to be shortened? What vibe to you get from it (we like quirky, not common but not batshit crazy)

We would pronounce it Cass ee ah btw.

I went to school with a Kassia and it wasn't ever shortened.

I work with a Cassia, I think it's a lovely name but she is universally known as Cass (which I also like). She said her DM didn't want it to be shortened but it happened at school and that was that.

Generally with names, if you don't want them shortened, they aren't. I have a name that looks like it would be shortened and my mum wanted me called the whole thing. As a child everyone would ask 'are you called x or y for short?' and me and my mum would just say 'no' and that was the end of it

We know a Cassia. She is known by her full name by adults and family but her school friends often call her Cass. (She's 12/13 if that makes a difference)

Cassia (imo) is one of the more lovelier 'ia' ending names.

I am not all that fond of it. Cassia or Cassia bark is a spices, a kind of inferior cinnamon.

I like the kash-a pronunciations, dislike cass-ee-a. It does remind me of the bark.

Love it! Would say Cass - ee - uh.

Really like Keziah too, sounds really strong and pretty. Would pronounce that Kez- ee - uh with the emphasis on Kez.
