No. wilfred?

IHeartKingThistle · 15/12/2016 18:40

I think it's great.

bruffin · 15/12/2016 18:41

I like it.

Suburbopolis · 15/12/2016 18:41

a cad and a bounder

FranHastings · 15/12/2016 18:44

Just use Will!

ALittleMop · 15/12/2016 18:46

Willoughby Wallaby

Wilbur is about the coolest name ever, call him that?

Jooni · 15/12/2016 19:25

No, it's too much.

I love Willem and Wilbur. Wilfred or just Will are also good suggestions.

How about Wilf? Willis?

BingBongBam · 15/12/2016 19:47

Love it.

Pluto30 · 15/12/2016 20:04

Don't like Willoughby at all.

There was a character on 7th Heaven years ago named Wilson. I prefer that if you want the nickname Will but don't want William.

KatieScarlett · 15/12/2016 20:07

He will be Willybooby by the time he hits P1.

WingMirrorSpider · 15/12/2016 20:10

Willard? I think that's Will Smith's full name.

Don't know what's wrong with William though, it's lovely.

IJustWantABrew · 15/12/2016 20:10

If you like the name will call him will. He doesn't need to have a long name, just give him the name you actually like.
Willoughby is a daft first name unless your a cat. Then it might be okay.

Madbengalmum · 15/12/2016 20:12

No,no,no

lapsedorienteerer · 15/12/2016 20:13

No - imagine your DS having to learn to spell it!

SausageSoda · 16/12/2016 09:06

First thought Holly Willabooby.

Shame as it would probably be an OK name of it wasn't for that.

Vanannabananna · 16/12/2016 09:23

I like it.

Oysterbabe · 16/12/2016 13:08

I really like it.

EliCon · 16/12/2016 13:43

It is really, really difficult name!

KlingybunFistelvase · 16/12/2016 16:19

Sense and sensibility is the first thing I thought of too.

I don't hate it but it would be hars to pull off I think. I love Wilfred and also really like William.

BeastofChristmasIsland · 16/12/2016 17:11

I think of 'Willoughbooby' or a surname. Or the more I say it, a wallaby.

Will is lovely, just use that, or William if you want a longer name on the BC. Willoughby is really a pretty awful name to saddle a child with.

passingthrough1 · 16/12/2016 17:28

I think it's ok. I much prefer it when people have longer names on the BC rather than nicknames like Will, and if William is out then I guess it makes sense

HelenaJustina · 16/12/2016 17:30

I thought S&S as well, love it, would never be brave enough to use it or get it past DH!

Notonthestairs · 16/12/2016 17:36

Was discussing this name at the weekend with 4 other friends and it was decided that it was a bit try hard...
But if you love it don't let my small-minded -instant -judgeyness sway you. We may have had a few drinks at the time of the discussion which I find lends it self to snap judgements Smile.
Will on the other hand is lovely.

1horatio · 16/12/2016 18:23

So... if you love the name... you know. No name regrets. But I really do not like it.

But what about Will?

Wilhelm? Vilko? Vilmos?

1horatio · 16/12/2016 18:24

So, I said it a few times. And whilst it still isn't one of my favourites it's actually ok imo.

There are so many worse names...
