Definitely margot!

EmpressOfTheSpartacusOceans · 10/12/2016 15:16

Margot pronounced Margo. Much nicer than Effie.

ILOVEKISSINGSANTACLAUS · 10/12/2016 15:19

Margot definitely

babyblabber · 10/12/2016 15:20

Margot. Definitely with the T and definitely much much nicer than Effie.

reindeerbitesback · 10/12/2016 15:25

I was known as Effy as a child and Margot is on my list for this pregnancy so I'm fond of both! As a full name, Margot is my favourite, but I adore Effie as a nn for something else.

CakeRattleandRoll · 10/12/2016 16:07

Agree with ops - Margot is definitely best. And prefer Margo to Effie.

SaltyBitch · 10/12/2016 16:09

Margo.

Effie isn't an adult's name to me - I just think of that druggie girl from Skins.

SorenaJ · 10/12/2016 16:09

Margot

SaltyBitch · 10/12/2016 16:09

Also yes - add the T!!

neonrainbow · 10/12/2016 16:10

What's effie short for?

EmpressOfTheSpartacusOceans · 10/12/2016 16:12

According to the OP's other thread it's not short for anything.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 10/12/2016 16:56

This is the 3rd thread in a few days asking about Effie. Looks like in 5 years. The class will be full of little Effies.
Both awful but Margo is the nicer of the 2

namesstress2323 · 10/12/2016 17:03

those are probably all from me Halo

OP posts:
neonrainbow · 10/12/2016 17:25

Yeah they are both awful but margot slightly better as it's at least a proper name.

BabCNesbitt · 10/12/2016 17:28

Effie usually short for Euphemia in Scotland, but it's a proper old lady name.

Sophronia · 10/12/2016 17:31

Margot

Effie offie!

I like Margot.

SoftBlocks · 10/12/2016 17:51

Margot. Don't understand the appeal of Effie at all.

NiceFalafels · 10/12/2016 17:52

Margot is great. Effie is awful

MiniMaxi · 10/12/2016 18:04

Margot with a T! Though I did once know a Margo. Or Margo short for Margaret who can also be known as Meg?

If Effie, only if that's a nickname and something longer on bc!

CancellyMcChequeface · 10/12/2016 19:29

Definitely Margo.

KoalaDownUnder · 10/12/2016 19:32

I don't like Margo/t much at all, but at least it sounds like a proper name. Effie sounds like a...sound.

Pluto30 · 10/12/2016 19:45

Don't like either at all. Would pick Margot if I had a gun to my head, though.

How about Maggie?

It has the nickname appeal of Effie, but a sound similar to Margot.

Gruffalosfriend · 10/12/2016 20:54

Margot if you're happy with Mar-gott. Margo will always be pronounced Mar-go!

I like me Effie but it does sound like a nickname.
