I regret my son's name...

He will be 1 in February and I still regret it but I don't know what to do! It's his first and middle name but I don't know why. I have a name that I prefer and did want from the start but I still don't know why I cannot get over this regret... :(

Please don't OP. It makes your son become a pawn in relationship difficulties between his parents and he should never be in that position. Surely it also means every time you use the new name, you will be reminded of the battle with your ex. Instead of it just being his name, that was chosen in a moment of happiness after his birth.

I think you should change it. A name that makes you relieve painful memories... that's just not good.

Or maybe change the middle name at least. Noah Quinn would sound great. Or Noah Elliott.

But I really do like the name Elliott, so I may be a bit biased here, admittedly. But Elliott Quinn really is an awesome name!! I also like Elliott Noah, btw.

I personally would probably (idk, your situation sounds very difficult so I don't actually know what I'd do!) maybe only change the first or the middle name!

I don't know why. But changing both... I think it could come to bite you in the ass. Sorry.

My name was changed twice during the first two months and my last name changed once, I wouldnt worry we don't remember, do it sooner rather than later if its what you want, if not just live with it and accept a name is just a noise we label someone

I would change it. Do it now before his birthday.

FluffyEggsontoast · 08/09/2020 06:56

Change it

poppydaisys · 08/09/2020 06:56

Change it!

Elliott Quinn is a lovely name. Quinn Elliott also flows very well.

But yes, definitely change now it if you regret it!

CHANGE IT.

And I'd absolutely do it without even thinking of getting the permission of the so-called 'dad'

FizzyGreenWater · 08/09/2020 08:46
