Fine as a nickname for Nathaniel, but not on its own.

For a boy or a girl? Nat like Nat King Cole? Or Nat like Natalie King Cole?

Either way I'm not keen I'm afraid.

It's a little buzzy insect. Nathan or Nathaniel are much nicer.

Sorry, I donb't like the sound of Nat at all - gnat, fat nat, cow pat nat is what comes to my mind too.

I also know a Natalie whose nickname is sometimes Nat.
