Name change

I am having serious baby name regret. I was talked out of using a name I had loved for years and I caved in. My daughter is now 15 months old, and although her name suits her, I still regret not sticking with my original choice. I was thinking of changing her first name and keeping her current name as her middle name so that we still call her by the name she has always known, and when she starts school she can officially use her first name. Do I sound crazy???!!! I have a feeling I do.

Maybe add the name you like as an extra middle name? Sorry but I'm not sure what you're thinking of would work, by the time she starts school she will probably have her own opinion about what she wants to be called and may well not want to be called by the other name. It would be confusing for her and would you expect friends and family to change what they called her too or that she would be called one thing at school and another at home?

I was thinking family call her by current name and only school call her by new name. I guess using it as a middle name could also work and be less confusing. She already has a middle name though. Are 2 middlenames too much?

I'd pick one name and use it all places, but if you prefer the other one, just start using it, and add it either as a first or middle name.
What is it, out of interest? Why were you talked out of it?
