Strong girls' names

I'd love to ask for your thoughts on strong girls' names. I'm not madly keen on the Poppy/Millie/Esme girly names that are popular at the moment, and would like something strong and elegant.

(Not much to ask!)

We are adopting and never thought that we'd have the chance to name a child ourselves, but it's looking like we're about to be matched with a young baby whose name the social workers will advise us to change for security reasons (if we are lucky enough for the match to go ahead Smile)

Many thanks!

I don't think it's been mentioned yet but Abigail has always struck me as quite a strong, but feminine name. There's just something about the way it sounds. The shortened versions aren't to bad either.

Regardless of what name you choose I hope it all works out for you, good luckSmile

Love it that my name gets mentioned on this thread!

I think most biblical names are strong, so Eve, Maria, Martha, Ruth, Rachel, Rebecca, Leah, Naomi, Hannah etc.

I think names ending in an 'a' sound strong - lots have been suggested, but Victoria, Susanna, Anna, Georgina etc.
